popping noise?

I have the A20A1 carbed engine on mine and when i start it up and hit the gas to about 5,000 rpm's it has a popping noise coming from under the hood, but when it's warmed up it doesn't do it. what could the prob be?

i dont recomend reving the shit out of it when you start it cold....its a good way to burn the engine and bearings...
always let it warm up...i pitty your car..cold reving will lower your cars life span

and the popping is probably a normallity since its cold and runs differently than when hot....

the popping might be because of ur moving parts and bearings and stuff like lifters and arms under ur valve cover are not getting free flowing oil. Never have ur car running or rev more than its idling speed. Be safe and have ur face safe man.

i think it's normal my car does the same thing i think it's both the coolant and oil warming up ! :D
