View Full Version : Soo....Sold my 1Gee...

didnt want to but too hard to find parts for it....pretty much sold it for double what i paid for it....


picked up a car that i know pretty much like the back of my hand.....its an 1983 Camaro Berlinetta 2.8 V6/auto (doing a 5 speed swap) for now im just foxing what needs to be fixed....i replaced the T top seals,full tune up,misc body things.....there is some rust i need to take care of the paint is in great shape gonna try just touching it up and re doing the interior all to black....it has the factory berlinetta rims but im gonna be running 60s Vette wheels (until i save up for skinnies ad nice fat rear wheels)

im gonna be using this engine (i want a V8) its a 350 out of my dads 71 El camino....

i know...kinda generic but its everything ive been wanting....i have major plans for it and will be able to do it.....parts are a dime a dozen...and i was a little too big for the Accord

Definitely different. Boo; an atomatic. But I'm sure it has its compensations as a nice cruiser.
Hope you enjoy the new project & got to enjoy the Accord for a while as well.

I'm becoming a bigger fan of American cars than I used to be. It's really nice to be able to drop any engine into a car without doing extensive fabrication, scavenge parts from everywhere for dirt cheap and enjoy overwhelming aftermarket support. Have fun with this one.

yeah its pretty solid and parts are sooooo easy to get lol junkyards are full of em....im gonna be doing a 5 speed swap EXTREMELY soon...found a 5 speed car in the junkyard grabbing everything to do it in a day

i only got 1500 for it but yeah im having a blast with this new car.....i can drive it and not worry about it being impossible to find parts if i break it

Well to each their own! I can understand the BIG advantage of so much aftermarket support and used parts availability, plus the ease of working on a RWD too! As someone who's done his fair share of work on 80's and 90's domestics, things are a LOT simpler to work on. At least you didn't buy a Rustang! LOL Have fun with the new project man, drop in and keep us appraised of how it's going. Oh, and I hope you pointed the new owner of your Accord our way. :sadwave:

ohh im defanetly sticking around here you guys are awesome and just because i dont have the 78 anymore dont mean im not interested in them.....i sold my mustang well over a year ago and still BS on the old mustang forum i told the new owner about this place but he didnt seem interested....it was a younger dude


and im a diehard ford/chevy guy i had a NICE mustang before these cars these pix should give you an idea of what i have planned for this camaro....
