Hey guys,
Not too new to the site, but new to doing some performance mods to my 88 Accord. I've searched but I couldnt find any clear cut answers to my questions, so perhaps one of you can point me in the right direction.

My car is a completely stock 1988 Accord DX sedan.

My question is can I buy this cat:
http://www.amazon.com/Magnaflow-94106-Universal-Catalytic-Converter/dp/B000COPC16/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1348958985&sr=1-1&keywords=Magnaflow+Universal+Catalytic+Cat+Convert er+94106

and run it into a 2.25" exhaust pipe?

Or should i be using a 2" cat?

Thanks for any help!!!

-John

I think you could go with a 2 if you have mandrel bends, if you dont you have to account for crimped bends and the extra bit of size will account for those. A crimped exhaust effectively functions as a smaller pipe due to the restrictions and turbulence created in the pipe, what are your plans for the motor? if you have plans to do work, and you need to do the exhaust now,go ahead and go with the bigger size,as you would only have to change it later

Did you even read my post? Yes that is exactly what I recommend if your car is bone stock. It is all up to you if you want to get a 2" or 2.25" exhaust, but I would not get a 2.5". Good Luck:thumbup:

Lol...sorry about that, I have no idea how that got posted twice....i was posting from my phone, so perhaps something didnt go through, or went through again...

Thanks for your advice!

I'll let you know what i decide!
