So I find a guy with some 91 prelude parts on Kijiji for 260.00 including a pair of mint seats. So I emailed him if he would sell the seats alone,he gets back to me and tells me he wants 150.00 for the seats.Man that sounds like a lot for them. The ones I got a couple years ago weren't the best and I paid 60,but was looking for a better set for a while now.Do u guys think that to much to pay?

It really comes down to "How much are they worth to you?" If those seats are worth 150 to you buy them......just remember when you pull away with your new seats you just got ripped off at $150

prelude seats are worth what ever fart miles they have. I bought a pair from a yard for 60 bucks.

If they are hard to find then 150 is ok. But they shouldnt be ripped or faded if he is asking that much. If not wait till you find a good set at the jy for much less.

I sold a pair of PERFECT seats from a '94 Prelude for $125. Odometer had like 50,000 miles on it. Car looked like it had been garaged up until it was rear ended.

So if they're in perfect or damn near perfect, they might be worth it if you can't find what you're looking for in the junkyard. I got incredibly lucky when I found that pair of Prelude seats. Normally, junkyard seats need at least a heavy cleaning and possibly some restitching. It's not a terrible idea to check the foam out, too. If you see foam powder around anything, pass on the seats.

Yeah it's just I really can't afford that much right now, and around here they don't show up in the junk yards that often.Well the guy said he is moving the end of the month so maybe he'll take less.

Are they high-option seats? I know the 4ws models had seats available that had cool things like adjustable side bolsters. About 10 years ago, I sold a set like that on eBay for $250 plus shipping, but that was before you could buy a pair of $200 shipped China seats.

unless you go to the junkyard on a half off day they charge about 50 bucks for each bucket seat. so your looking at about a hundred no matter what condition.

i got mine from an 89 si super clean on a half off day for fifty bucks the pair

I personally would not pay that much but like every one said it depends how much they are worth to you

i have done prelude seat upgrades on both my last 3gees and i got to say they are a really good upgrade if you can find a pair of seats for cheap. over here on craigslist people are selling recaro, bride and sparco knockoffs for 400 bucks a pair. i was thinking of picking up a pair if i cant find clean lude seats.

Well the guy doesn't have any pictures,he said they're from a SR model.I offered him 100.00 but never heard back from him.I guess he didn't like my offer. He said he needs to sell the stuff before he moves,so maybe if no one buys them he might get back to me.

50 a seat is a joke. Remember there 90 lude not a s2k. I can get s2k seats for 180 set

Well I checked his ad today and he dropped his price to 200 for everything, basically he has the whole interior and the headlights and some little stuff so why would I give him 150 for just the seats.Just have to see if he gets back to me or not I'll have to pass on them.

No I just wanted the seats,no use for the other stuff. But like I said why give him 150 for the seats when he only want 200 for everything.Guess I'll just wait for another set to come along.

they look pretty nice, I don't think the memory function would work without the computer for it L:/

Pretty Clean! Nice Score. Random question: Does anyone know if the 3rd Gen Prelude seats fit in the 2nd gen Prelude?? I have a set of 2nd gen Accord seats in my 2nd gen lude right now. As for the seats shown here they look like a direct match, and this thread has inspired me to go seat hunting. I see a lot of mostly clean 3g Prelude seats at my local Pick and pull but as for 2g seats....not so much.

Memory function doesn't have a computer silly Roo. Heres how it works:

You set the seat where you want it, press the memory button. Now you can fold your seat forward and back to your memory setting, rather than the factory setting.

I guy I got them from said he had the back seats in great shape as well.I was thinking about getting them and making them fit the back.Didn't someone do this already,I thought I remember seeing pics of this been done.Anyone know who it was.

The problem is that one of the 4 mount points is "flat" as opposed to bent down, and the bolt holes don't quite line up.

2g Accord/Prelude seat rails look like this:

/-------------\

3g Prelude Seat rails look like that on one side, and on the other side, they look like this:

/-----------------

So basically the bolt goes straight down. I have them in my 2g Accord, but one bolt is not in, and I had to drill out the mounts on the floor to be able to bolt the other 3 in. It's really rather ghetto. If you could swap the seat rails somehow, you'd be in luck.

My front seats are in,just swapped the rails.I was asking about putting the back prelude seat in my car.I know I read where someone on here did it a few years ago but can't find who it was.

Does anyone remember who it was who put a rear prelude seat in their accord.

2oodoor

Not at the moment, hey what does it look like? You may be able to use the accord corners and prelude center. Another option is use the prelude covers on the accord base and foam , maybe adding foam or cutting. You would need some hogring pleirs.

Not lookin to go through a lot of work, just like to match the front and back seats if is doesn't involve a lot of work. That's why I was looking for the person who already did it to see how much work was needed to do it.

2oodoor
11-15-2012, 03:32 PM
For sure too much work I guess... It was a royal pain in the seat removing rear seats without damage. It was like 118 degrees every time ive done it though so maybe its not so bad in a cool workspace.
I would do the work if I had those seats, it ill look awesome.

import racer
11-16-2012, 02:33 PM
Yeah the front seats look awesome,I don't think I ever had a car with seats this nice.Maybe if I can get the back seats cheap enough I'll try to make them fit.But would have to wait til spring as it's getting cold here.

I hope you decide to do it, the number one mod that sets a entheusist car apart from the rest is interior work, a custom upgradEd late model lude interior would be the sex, Im tellin ya.
