Hi, im new to these cars, im a 88-00 civic and 90-01 integra person my self and have had over 150+ cars but the other day i sold a crx to someone and they gave me this accord on top.

1982 clean title im second owner and only has 90k miles on it, car was sitting since 1992 because fuel cut relay was burnt out, i got a new battery and relay and it started right up and runs like brand new.

im uploading some pics now will have shortly, i havent searched yet but had few questions,

how do they sound with straight pipe all the way back from headers?
what light housings can i buy that look oem but can have hid's mounted in them?
is the steering wheel spline count the same as 88-95 civic?
car is pinging at WOT but i run 92 octane and timing is dead on, is there a screw on the carb to add more fuel?

any help would be appreciated thanks!

Wow, getting a car that was sitting for 10 years is my dream. It is 150,000 Mi less it should be. Congrats and i am sure you are going to find all the answers here.

Very nice, the wheels really suit it.
Yes Honda kept the same steering wheel mounting for decades, from the first Civics in '73 that didn't change.
Headlamps should be dead easy since USA demanded the use of generic standard lamp sizes until '86 or thereabouts, plenty on ebay

OMG that is clean! :welcome: to the site :D

I love the wheels a lot.

Any steering wheel before EK should fit without any problems.

Wow nice car! And you're in Tacoma! Really looks good the way you have it set up. What's your suspension set up?

Thanks! yeah been looking around on here studying up on these, as far as suspension goes i cut the springs which i know is  and i havent done the back yet, im gunna see what i can do about mounting civic coilovers onto the accord strut, or mabey trying like rx7 lowering springs? they seem the same size.

also might pick up some rota rb's or konig rewinds and see how they look on there just not sure if these cars have a issue with 7.5/8 inch wide wheels rubbing the shock?

As of yesterday, i changed the ignitor, fuel filters, and took the complete crappy echaust off and ran 2.5 straight pipe from the flex pipe to the bumper, doesnt sound bad and not to loud, might get a ticket for the flame that comes out every time i shift though lol.

has anyone ever ran +20 offset wheels on one of these before will it clear? i got some konig rewinds i wanna throw on.

I think that 7.5 and 8 inch wheels might be fine with that offset, at least on the shock towers. But as far as the fenders, I'm not really sure. Generally speaking, anything that fits a Civic fits these cars too, but not many people do anything to these cars, so you may be the first. :)

I wouldn't worry too much about cutting the springs. It's kinda the only thing you can do, short of building your own coilovers, or modifying the suspension from another car.

okay cool thanks, yeah i seen that the baseplate of the springs up front would be close to the wheel, but i think they should fit fine. might be trading the wheels for some 15inch enkei 92's which would probably look better on the car since their more oldschool.

i was thinking about getting fender mounted mirror's, had anyone on here done that? i think it would look cool on these.

Never seen anybody on here do that! I have been pondering that idea on my 1st gen. I have a bunch of OEM mis-matched fender mirrors. I think I have a driver's side for your car. Might send a PM to Alex (username 3gcvc) I think he might have a pair.

Yep those are the mirrors. Hey I also have the "Digital Compass" setup with the gauge cluster, harness and compass sensor that goes on the hood. I'll dig it out and get some pics tonight. I think I have the OEM remote mirror switches too.

Selling it? Boo! How long have you had it?

jeph
10-22-2012, 06:27 PM
mabey not tho, im trying to keep it, ive had it for 2 months now and i love it and plus all the money i been saving on gas lol, i usually have 88-91 civic or crx with b series swap gettin like 14mpg compared to this accord which i get about 400 miles to a tank! and i got straight 2.5 exhaust with no muffler or cat and no air filter lol so could be even better!

after talking with the girl i think were gunna keep it around.
