Hello 3geez

This seemed to be the appropriate site after bringing home a 1979 Honda Accord Hatchback....it has been sitting for quite awhile, but it ran right before it was stored back in, oh, 99' haha

Just a few dings here and there but minimal rust and a solid chassy

Would like it seen on the road with and engine swap but according to several professional opinions, it would take many hours of work to swap a modern engine to power it

I don't exactly have a solid game plan at the moment, that being said, any opinions, links, tips, etc etc would be greatly appreciated!

It's looking good. Glad to see you getting it back on the road. I'd say try to get it running as is before launching into a big build. You may be pleasantly surprised to find it fires right up and runs great.

Totally, I think it might just do that. I wouldn't mind seeing some build threads if there are any out there....?

Welcome!
Get the old fuel out and clean the fuel system up streight and it may be fine.
There are a few scatterd out threads here featuring 1 geez swaps, one being a b18 ls integra motor! I have no idea where its buried though, the instalation didnt look too bad but the suspension to handle the power just wasnt done yet, even though the car was driveable. A front crossmember would need to be made. I think something with 100 to 150 HP would be more reasonable for a swap.
Maybe even a motorcycle engine could work in that lite of a car, like a huyabusa turboed, not as much suspension work possibly needed then who knows...

Thanks.

So...I drained the oil, filled it with fresh...., got a wrench on the crank and it turned over no problem. New battery, fresh gas (with some gas line antifreeze to help with condensation. Tried for ignition.....the starter works but alas, didn't start...

I can tell I've been on this forum for a while - of the two cars in the last pic the one on the left looks waaaay better to me than the other....

Yep. There's no feeling quite like having an old beater that's been abandoned for years just fire up for you, even though you don't deserve it. These little cars have hearts of lions.

@go2eleven I agree, classic cool always a winner

I'm happy with the result of it starting and was able to drive it around a bit.....however once at my buddies the mechanic he advised me that it would be a lot of time and loot to bring back fully to life. That being said, I will post a FS ad to find it a properly appreciated home
