Those bugs, I rented one and really enjoyed the car but the front suspension is shit. I can imagine what that abuse did to those lol

The suspension on them isn't so bad. Routine maintenance is an absolute pain, but it take's my wife's abuse and keeps going so I can't complain too much.

This car was right at a 1.5 years old with around 30k miles.
We usd it to go to Wild Dunes resort up past Charleston Sc. Lots of neglected infrastructure in between the new stuff, that suspension bottoms out way too easy to an annoying degree. Thats the only example I have so its just my opinion. I was highly impressed with the power, mpg, and front seat area comfort.
So much so we drove on down to Savannah for a quick stroll on River st the last day before coming back home.

I sell VW oil pans at least once a week, It's a very common issue for them to bottom out and crack
