That's on the list. I'll be digging deep into the archives for the mobile logo.

Holy crap Im gone for one day and come back to the new setup, it freaked me out at first. I thought my phone was going to random pages....the new setup Is WAY better in my opinion. It looks so fresh and new, and the mobile version is a really cool feature. I'd say deffinetly a vary great job!

The only thing that is really really bugging me is all the space in the posts above people's signatures. People who don't have sigs don't have that extra space in there. I can see why it's happening, it's always below the contact icons... but it looks inconsistent and kinda messes with the readability, IMO.

I hadn't noticed that until now. In a way I kind of like it because it separates the message from the signature. But it does take up a lot of screen space. It almost looks like maybe the avatars are bigger now, making it more noticeable.

Try using the "whats new" button I thought they were the same but may not be exactly. Im not even using the mobile version, too much scrolling and missing buttons I use.

I'd have to look at the settings again, but I believe the "new posts" caching may be about 30 mins or so. The point being that you can visit the board a few times a day and there will be a list of new stuff for you to view. But it might not be practical for to-the-minute updates.

Somtimes i make a few posts then get ready to log out, but check if there is a new post there before i do so. I like up to the minute updates.

How are you replying? Desktop or mobile? Desktop seems to be working ok.

Hmm, I`m not seeing a new post button. There is a reply button but no new post. I also noticed that on my phone I wasn`t able to see this entire thread until I logged in. It stopped at like the 25th post or something and I couldn`t find the next page button. Anyway I think I see what you mean. There is no way to view the thread while you are replying. Don`t know if that can be changed or not. Man my phone really sucks for mobile browsing. C|

Ive just been using the full site version on the ipod, i couldnt navigate the mobile version without flipping and flipping, I could practice on it but latEr. The whats new button brings up new posts and also the site always opens on that page which i like.

Just an update -

I haven't had much of a chance to work on Night Race yet. Sorry folks. It'll happen, I promise.

I had to ditch the Facebook connect feature because for some reason it started hanging and wreaking havoc on server speeds. It obviously pulls data from another source, and if that source is slow, then it makes us slow. I used it, and I'm not sure what tangible benefits it brought other than making it slightly easier to log in to the board.

This I am noticing too. If I post in a thread, the thread disappears until someone else posts in it. I can go to the main forums and get to it though.

December saw the most unique visitors and visits that we have ever seen. Which is unusual for winter. Our peak traffic window is always the spring (March-July).

I think we'll level off in January and February, but all signs point to a record spring uptick in visits and uniques this year. We've always been growing - these numbers have been increasing for years. Our numbers are 3x what they were 5 years ago. More people are finding us and using our resources, but yes, posting has been down. And I think it's a phenomenon that is affecting many forums out there. Some think that the message board format is outdated for community building. Are people getting lazier, wanting instant gratification without searching for an answer? Maybe not - if that was the case, fewer people would be coming to the board, not more.

I think the fact that registered activity is down is because we provide a service without having to register. Our resources are so well established that people may be finding their answers without having to sign up. I'm concerned about the reduced community/OT activity, mostly because we all remember clearly how active and fun it used to be. Some admins think Facebook is the reason for that. But despite that, our future as a self-sustaining resource is pretty bright.

What happened to the "log on with Facebook" button at the top? Also, I dislike how when my browser window is "too skinny" the thread titles get shortened to like half and I am forced to either click the link or go to full screen just to see the title...

Anybody else with Iphone or Safari having issues with the page jumping to format mode while typing? Im typing in a post or pm and the page goes to night race or gives me choices, so friggen annoying!!!

Sounds like you may be having a cache issue. Go to your safari setting and clear cookies and data. You will loose all your setting, and pre-logins for any websites you have saved.

Go advanced on the posting, then click the video reel button. Paste the youtube video link in the pop-up window that comes after that.

Are you using the mobile version of the website, or the full site? Try downloading chrome on the iPhone, and see if it alleviates the problem.

I was aware if those controls under settings. I have mine on standard editor and vb4. My issue comes from the quick change at the bottom of every page, full site. I can't deal with the mobile version...too much scrolling n page flippin.

Night Race is still a work in progress. There are a bunch of text and background colors that I still need to fiddle with.
