Is it cable or hydraulic? If it's hydraulic you may just have some gunk in your master cylinder, and it's not too difficult to clean out the reservoir and re-prime the system with new fluid OR it may just need adjustment: cable or hydraulic, adjustment is pretty simple too. Let me know and I'll give you any pointers you might need.

Haven't we had a couple threads describe this kind of thing just before the clutch fails, fork breaks, disc grenades, etc? You might want to check that out in a hurry.

if it's the 3gee then it's one of the following:
weak pressure plate
broken clutch fork
broken clutch pedal bracket
bad clutch cable

I think it's a good time to tell dad he needs to fix your clutch. Adjust the cable first. Depending on miles, probably needs a clutch kit if cable adjustment don't work.Have the flywheel checked for cracks & warpage, resurface it or rough it up with around 150 grit sandpaper.

I bought the clutch kit for my Civic from the site below.

http://www.clutchcityonline.com/

They sell the flywheels also, but I believe rockauto.com have them cheaper. They carry Daikin clutches, and have free shipping; prices are really good I think.
I got my FW resurfaced but by the price difference I could have gotten a new one.
