I finally got around to rebuilding my combo switch. I used RussianKid's How-To, http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?60916-How-To-Fix-Rebuild-Low-High-beam-headlamp-switch and http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?77873-How-to-Windshield-Wiper-Switch-cleaning-rebuild. For about 5 years, getting my wipers to work has involved a lot of finagling. I took some pics and thought I'd share them.
These were the contacts for the windshield wipers.

As you can see, the one contact is completely coated with black goo. The goo is about the consistency of tar and required a good amount of alcohol and wire brushing to get clean. The situation on the other side of the contact is worse.

There is black goo everywhere, thick and sticky. I wasn't having any issues with the headlights, so I figured those contacts would be fine. I was wrong. Here is the one side of the headlight switch.

The other side was also full of goo.
