View Full Version : Is it possible to fit accord gearbox into civic2gen engine

My uncle have 2gen civic (1.5 cvcc) which have transmission problem.i have found an accord for scrap (dont know weather it 1.6/1.8/cvcc) .But, i dont have any idea about those gearbox. So,i want to ask,can i fit the accord gearbox into the civic. Is it any different or too many different or cannot fit at all between those engine and gearbox.tq

I'm pretty sure those are not interchangeable. One of the 1gee guys will need to chime in here.

I'm not totally sure on that one. I think the bellhousing patterns are the same, but I'm not sure which clutch / flywheel you would have to use on your engine. I would say to check the 1stGenCivic.org forums, but looks like the admins got all butthurt about something and killed the forums.

Just remember that there were hydraulic and cable-operated GK transmissions. The cable ones were from 82-83 Accords, and the hydraulic ones were from 81 and earlier.
