I heard from someone on the board that there is toxic crap inside the cat. Is this true? And how do you gut it out? Cut the side of it or how do you do it? Is there a how-to section on this? I think that would be sweet if someone made a gutting cat how to. :stick: :beer: :bow: :rice:

All I did on mine is take it off, take a long rod. :eek: and just start hammering it though it, didnt take to long, very messy though. I dont know about toxic, there is alot of dust from it so dont be trying to snort it and I think you will be ok. :lol

I think I'll wear a air mask for painting while ramming it out. And I think I'll wear rubber gloves. Is your car sounding deeper or higher pitched?

Oh yeah would you suggest putting your heat sheild back on? Mine makes some funny noises sometimes. (because it was broken and I fixed it and now it's broken again) When I say I fixed it, what I mean is hit it with a metal bar until it stopped making noises. Worked for about a year. :)

I don't think the heat sheild did much anyways. I'll just polish up the cat with my new dremel and knock the shit out of the insides.

well if u wanna gut ur cat to make it like a straight flow, just get a pipe welded in place of the cat. why go thru the whole gutting process and putting the cat back on which is not gonna do u any good compared to a pipe getting welded on. a hollow cat is gonna cause turbulance considering u go from narrow tube to a larder and then again to a smaller. u see what i mean?

Yea their is toxic stuff uranium you know radioactice stuff I would tuch dog turds before touching the insides of my cat.

just get a bolt on striat pipe so you can switch it when you need emisions test. I picked one up on ebay for $15 and just bolted right in with the flanges. simple, fast, more effective and sounds better.
