Thinking about items that make the car seem older, retro in a since. Something similar to this (https://www.google.com/search?q=retro+mod+car&hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=nFThUL20HaXu2QW1l4DoBA&ved=0CDgQsAQ&biw=320&bih=504#p=0) , but Honda.

The valve cover is not painted yet, but I "polished" parts to make it look kinda old school. Trying to determine if it looks cheesy or old school?

Looks better than a giant black valve cover.

I'm old anna I went to school but ain't too much for a lookin at > but< a mild wire tuck and tidy up some of those worm clamps would give it a more retro look. Valve cover work just needs to be clean and like new no matter how it gets refinished IMO. The short ram I dunno, something about those just always looks jc whitney-ish so to me that is another area I really have no suggestion for but takes away from a retro appearence. I like the car regardless!

I think it would look good if you painted it black, left the bars brushed like they are now, and paint the raised lettering black. I think that would look pretty good, and it goes very well with the retro theming if that's what you're aiming for.

What about getting some header paint and giving it a couple coats? haven't seen that in a long time.

Now that you mention it I think wrapped headers are retro looking.

And beneficial!

I say paint them and them wrap them!

Also I've seen it once on the forum some guy went to the salvage and bought a couple stock plastic intakes and made himself a CAI that looked SUPER STOCK.

That is what I was thinking about, but I made also polish the lip closes to the spark plugs. I may play with a bit before painting.

Definitely looking into this, but I have found more heat in the engine bay improves gas mileage. So I'm a little torn lol

I have been looking around at this, I think the 4G accord should fit pretty well.

I will be doing a simple wire tuck, as well as using a type R throttle cable and throttle pully. This will let the throttle cable come from the other direction, and not stick up all funky like that (also no giant throttle bracket). I really wish I could find a smaller clutch cable, but that does not seem to be an option.

I think anything under the hood cleaned and painted looks better than all black.Just my .2 cents worth.

In my opinion, aluminum should never be painted, only polished

Yeah but it takes a lot of work and will oxidize if not coated.
