I want to put stereo/CD controls on my steering wheel, because I can't stand to put the effort into reaching past the gearshift to hit the tiny buttons on my CD player. Anyone know how to go about installation without seriously butchering my steering column for nothing?

Tks

you can get cd player with remote control. that is what i did on my car. CD player is like 3 inches away from shifter but i am still using remote.

well, a head unit i am gonna get has a remote, but u know what i aint gonna use it. I am not gonna be turning up and down the volume every 5 seconds so u know, its not a big deal for me. But if u want it, like shephard said get a headunit that has a remote that attachs to the steering wheel, not the conventional looking one, but a steering mounted one.

Another alternative is to get an SE-i steering wheel with stereo controls. Then buy yourself a head unit with remote and use it to program a steering wheel remote interface that you can get from Crutchfield. That's my $.02 worth.

Good luck....
peace out

damn i know what you mean man... It sucks to not have a remote... I've always bought my H/U with remotes and I'll never ever get another one without it....
