does anyone know the best way to legally black out your tails? i've heard some ppl tint them, some paint them... can anyone help me??

i tinted mine with that removeable tint from wal mart.
police dont like it, but I passed inspections and have had them for over a year now.

well out here its considered illegal to spray or alter ur tailights in any way so yeah i dont know i havent had any problems with mine

no maybe you misunderstood me......
I got some of that WINDOW TINT the actual FILM..
I waited for a really hot day...(Im in Louisisana so I didnt really have to wait)
and stretched it over the tails and then I siliconed them around..
I think I did a really good job because you can still see the lights underneath when its nighttime. No water gets between either.
I'll have to post some pics..........

I think they look bad-ass... You can kind of see in the one in your sig but close-ups would be sweet.

naw jigg, i understood you... but even tho they're siliconed i'd be worried that there'd be a stone ship or some jackass keying the mo'fo.

that's why i wanted to do a spray of some sort. that way i wouldn't have to worry about condensation and shit.

yah I feel you. but suprisingly they havent been cut by anything and no water has leaked in there or anything.
I got the 20% tint.
I used like clear silicon adhesive, but I didnt use it on the part you can see, just on the back of the tail to hold it wrapped around it, see what I'msayin..
I'm workin on some pics.....

I waited until it was reall hot outside and stretched it until all the wrinkles were out. I used those "helper" things that look like pliers and they hold stuff for you to hold it in place while the silicon around theo outside dried.

I went to pepboys and bought this "touch-up paint for Hondas" black. I took the whole side markers off and the front thing under the crome thing on the hood ( very bad terminology.......... Oh well). Washed them pretty good. Dryed them and then gave it 4 coats. I wasn't worry about the light because I unpluged all that shit off. I did not like those lights. I already have a pair of blue fog lights, blue side markers, blue nozzle lights on the hood and the headlights, so i thought it was too much to have those side lights there. It looks pretty hot in person.

I like it too. Specially with the tinted window and everything. It gives you a lot of privacy. I'm getting my 17" tomorrow, so its gonna look even better! Man, I'm so excited!
