Alright i've got an 89 Lx-i and i've decided that i'm going to get 2.25" piping from my catalitic converter back but i really can't decide on which muffler i should get? i was thinkin the dynomax super turbo or maybe the apexi n1 but i don't want anything to obnoxious or extreemly loud. i want a clean, higher pitched, import type of sound got any sugestions? oh and about how much am i lookin at to get the 2 1/4 piping and all that stuff installed?

I think the price difference between the dynomax and n1 is BIG.
Only the piping you're looking at about $200.

I have 2.25 in piping and a Apexi Turbo N1 and it sounds really clear!!! With mine Bc it is a turbo the inlet piping is bigger so i have 2.25 from the cat and than i have 2.5in from like behind the rear tire to the muffler!!! Dynomax usally dont sound that good!! They usally are deeper and not as clear!!!

1988starter, I just put the Dynomax super turbo on my '87, and like you I am pretty satisfied with it . Heck, for $43 you can't beat it. I just got my lx-i still all stock down to the 13'' hubcaps so I didn't really want to put a $160 stainless exaust on it right now.

When you really think about it their are 2 types of sound a muffler makes (hear me out). The sound you hear in the car and the sound everyone else hear's outside of the car. When I first got my Dynomax Super turbo I noticed that at idle it had a deep tone to it. Then as you reved it, it stayed deep until around 3k to 4k where the sound of the motor seamed to take over. But when I approached a tunnel one day I decided to see what it sounded like to the rest of the world. I slowed down just as I got in the tunnel and grabbed 1st and planted it. 4k,...hmmm,
5k, whoa!,....6k, really big grin!, repeat into 2nd gear. After that I can say the Dynomax has a nice and deep sound at lower rpm's, take it higher, even to redline and it emits a snarl that makes window's down in tunnels a must. It really does sound nice at high rpm's.

Yeah mufflers do have some weight to them. But how much is one made from titanium gonna cost? A pretty penny I'll bet. Someone posted one made from carbon fiber.

well I have a custom catback 2.25in piping and the dynomax super turbo as well... The piping only cost me $100 ... total for the muffler and the catback + labor = $160 :D that is non-mandrel bent mind you... I want to run straight piping but Im not sure how its going to work out once I do the 2.25 in drop....
