There have been several threads lately where carb pre-heat is mentioned and it has been asked before but no one answered so.....does anyone know of a place that sells pre-heater hoses for an 87 Accord? Honda dealer told me it is no longer available and the generic types are too short and fat. 2 ft. by 1.25 in. should be about the right size. Thx

Rockauto.com lists a bunch for your car (sorry, I don't know how to paste that link). You could also try absconding with one from the junkyard.

Rockauto's search function is messed up. It shows several hoses that fit an Accord but the sizes are all wrong. I might end up buying two 1.5" hoses and join them with a coupler of some sort to make it long enough. Wish I could locate the OEM part or something similar but with some new clamps an oversize hose should work.

You need the length and diameter and you should be able to find a universal hose at msc, you can also use high temp silicone hose, the orange stuff

McMaster Carr has all types of flexible duct hose. They have a 1 1/4" ID hose that is silicon and good up to 500 degrees that should work. It is listed as: part no: 55125K73

Good find Keachman1. It's the right size and their price is reasonable too.

Most autoparts have a universal selection available but a lot of employees won't know wtf you are talking about

The auto parts guys never seem to have the right size, its an oddball size, the silicone one is far better then factory anyway

The OEM hose is made of coiled wire and what feels like some type of fabric. It supplies the warm air radiating off the exhaust manifold which is used by the carb on cold starts. It's regulated by a thermostat and flapper in the air filter housing.
