Alright boys, not sure if anyone has any interest, but I just found the elusive Phoenix Red DX Coupe. For those who don't know, the 89 DX Coupe and 88 DX Hatch are the only body/trim available in Phoenix Red, and the "off black" cloth interior was only available with the Phoenix Red paint.

Obviously I wouldn't go so far as to say this is a collectible or 'rare' car yet, but it's definitely one of the hardest combo's to find.

...and for $600 this thing is a steal considering the lack of rust.

...and oddly enough, also in Seattle c/l is the first I've ever seen of a phoenix red respray or interior swap (likely respray)... This color combo was not available from Honda ever (IIRC).

It's a LOT of work doing an interior respray color change, as I am in the midst of one now.
More work than anybody but a total 3geez nutcase would do, no usd car lot would bother im sure.
That's wild you found two for sale at one area.

You dummy, that's just a Chateau Red LX-i with it's standard red LX-i interior and a replacement tail light from a DX. :p

Look at the door jams (jambs?), Charlie.

What's more likely:

One replaced tail light.

OR

Fully swapped interior, complete with power windows and button cluster for climate control and rear 6x9's, power mirrors, LX-i wheel covers, painted door handles to match OEM color, power antenna swap, more to list. Seems a bit much to me. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's just a faded Navajo coupe and the guy used flash and was outside in all of his pictures which distorted the color.

so i know the second link i posted is not a true phoenix, nor is it really a phoenix red paint, but it's absolutely a respray unless the camera severely distorted the color/finish. 1989 Honda Accord DX - TNT AUTOMITE (http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/ctd/3749266556.html)

It's still available and apparently listed with the wrong engine pic (not the right car), and the Aero-catch latches look like crap on it. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole, but it's worth b/s'ing about.

For reference, this is the factory non-phoenix (navajo) 1989 accord lxi (http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/3764804102.html).

The only interior color available with the navajo was the beige with black top-half, never the maroon/burgundy. For the record, the color combo in the ad is (imo) ugly as sin.

Er..yeah. If I had to guess, that misplaced engine shot is from a Ford Ranger XD

First time I've seen an LX-i with a DX badge on it, haha.

eh, the badge thing is too easy tho... My DX coupe was rocking the LX-i badge for a few years of its life as I sourced the replacement taillights from an LX-i at the boneyard.

I wonder why some cars got the black trim with the beige interior, while others (like mine) got all beige. I think I prefer the black.
