does the cylinder head from prelude b20a fit to the accord a20x engine? and do I need to change anything else?

And does the tranny fit over??

The B20 head will not work in an A20. I think that tranny may work, but I'm not too sure. Try searching 'prelude tranny' or something similar using the search feature and see what you turn up.

So 2nd gen of prelude should fit, same engine? both have 137hp

I heared about one that put a prelude manual tranny into a accord before, but I don't know what modell it was...

I heared from same guy that it had another gear ratio, more sporty, thats why I want to change it... Maybe the lude tranny is the same thats in the 16v accord!??

No the lude tranny isnt the same as the 16v accord. The 16v accord tranny only came in 3rd gen accords and 2nd gen preluds with the 16v b20a engine. The 12v lude tranny is a little bit sportier. Its a good gain for replaceing a carbed accord trans, but not really worh the trouble unless you're replacing a bad trans on en efi accord.

the 2.0 liter lude and the 2.0 liter accord have the same block. the trannys are interchangable and so are the heads and thats all! u cant use B20 parts on an A20. The B series motors are DOHC and the A series are SOHC. trannys between the DOHC and DOHC are not interchangable...

or even DOHC and SOHC are not interchangable... hehe, sorry a little bit of a type-o

So that means if I change to B20A engine from prelude 2nd gen, I have to take the tranny to? and thats the only tranny that will fit?

it's to my understanding that if you have a b-series engine you can put a b-series tranny. and same for an a-series. I would also guess (correction is probably going to happen on this next quote) that the number doesn't matter. Like b20 tranny and b16 tranny will most likely fit... though i wouldn't trust that untill someone with more knowledge puts their other pennies in.

ps... see told ya i'd get corrected:tongue:

not all B series tranies will fit B20A you will have to look around and see what is the bolt patern and so on and on.

As far as I know the only tranny to fit the B20a is either from the 3rd gen accord B20a (B20a2/B20a7 european models) or from the 2nd Gen Prelude that came with the B20a (B20a2/B20a7).

If its from a 2nd gen lude or 3rd gen accord then it'll fit. 12v trannys stay with 12v motors and vice versa. You're lucky over there in europe. At least you have a chance of finding a yard with a B20A in it. If you find one make sure to grab the motor/trans/back mount at least. If you can grab the whole car. Then you can swap the harnesses/computers/any other goodies that you can find. With the whole car you're also guaranteed to have all the parts you need to get the swap done. Not to mention the 16vs came with rear disks didnt they.

all europe 2.0i came with rear disc, I have it on my car, look at it on my web site: http://home.no.net/mfborge/

Do I need harnesses and computers or is that just a bonus?
I've got EFI engine...

And yes I'm from Norway!! ehh..? But it's not easy to fint lude's with 16v engine, and if I do, then they are very expensive, 88mod around $13.000 (90.000Nkr) And I belive it's only one accord 16v in norway and I think it's import, I can't fint any in germany either, and that's were I gonna import the lude from....

I have just wrecked an other accord 2.0i 12V with rear disc brakes, but the cost of sending them over is to expensive isn't it?

And I want some US tail lights for my car that I would have made black in the top and red on the bottom... But again, to expensive to import from US I belive...

Tail lights arn't going to be too bad. us$20 from a junkyard and the shipping isnt going to be much more then that. They're light and plastic. The harness and computer problaby wont hurt. You'd need to ask someone who has swaped a b20a or take a peek into the faq for that info though. I'm sure there is some one willing to pay to have some rear disks shiped over. If they are that plentful why not get a group thing going and send a few sets bulk freight. May take a while, but it'll bring down the cost of shipping quite a bit.
