Anyone know if you can put a cam from the carbed engine in the efi. I have a cam from my carbed engine and was wondering if I could use that to get reground to put in the efi engine ?

If it's getting regrounded, I don't think it matters then.

EFI cams have higher lift. so i am not sure how effective carb cam will be on EFI. this summer (comming summer) i will try swap EFI cam on carb engine.

for grinding purposes it doesn really matter unless u want a wild grind with the most possible lift and duration. in that case u would want to use the EFI cam beacuse it will have the most meat on the lobes to begin with, so more meat to work with aswell. but if u just want a mild grind, theres plenty of lobe on either cam to make the mild profile.

and if ur swaping an efi cam into ur carbed engine, don't wast ur time. spend ur time on something more usefull like changine the carb thats choking ur engine.

No its carb cam going onto a EFI engine. And I only want I mild grind, so that it at least idles and its not like getting a massage when at stop lights. lol - so the carb cam will be fine

Thanks for the info

It would be sweet if there was a How-To on the cam install and uninstall ! I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out but it would definetly help, eh ! :D

I took pics when I took mine out recently but I haven't been able to write up the how-to part but I'll have one up real soon.

mike, is there a grind in between the mild and wild grind? i want something above mild, but not something that wouldnt suit daily driving...but also gives good, noticable amount of power gain...

YK86 - sounds like your how to will be sweet .

So a mild grind will that still add 5hp
