About a year ago I had my car at a shop for a heater hose replacement. The mechanic said he had to remove the air box to get to it. Ever since I got the car back the fast idle is crazy high, up to 2500 sometimes and will not "bump" down with the gas pedal tap that it used to. After it gets warm the car will finally allow me to bump it down. My regular idle is fine, about 900 rpms. How do I lower the fast idle? I've tried doing it while it's idling that high but then when it's warm my regular idle is also way lower.

I don't know what the guy did but I know he did something to my idle while he had the box off.

I haven't tried it myself, but legend has it that you can remove the top from the valve and screw down the plastic piece inside to lower the idle speed. Also check the operation of the throttle cable to make sure it isn't hanging up somehow.

There is a fast idle adjustment screw right under the regular idle adjustment. I follows on the fast idle unloader cam.
