Does anyone know the difference between the 2 engines. I have an 86 hatch and they tell me that the b20a5 wont fit why?

The B20A is a JDM accord motor and it uses the same mounts with the exception of an additional rear mount. All other B20s are different and the prelude one uses a hydrolic tranny and does require frame cutting for fitment. The B20A is a nice motor and enough torque but rather rare and hard to get a 5spd as well. Also parts are a mystery to.

As far as I am aware the tranny from the B20a5 from the 3rd Gen Prelude will not bolt on to the B20a from the accord.
The tranny from a B20a engined 2nd Gen Prelude will fit the Accord B20a though.

aren't the accord b20a and the 2g lude b20a the same engine?

and the 3g lude b20a and a5, b21a1 also, won't fit because they were designed for the 3g lude hoodline... lotta stuff different...

Yes they are.

Just like the 2.0L 12V engines from the 2g lude and 3g Accords are the same.
