Hey guys!!!
Man, I'm really gald to hear from all of you! Yes, I was deployed in the wake of the Sep 11 attacks. Been overseas for a long time (4 months). I got back right about spring time, and decided it was time for a change...
I sold the S2000 and the Yamaha R6 for a different line up this time around.
We ended up getting a Subaru WRX (2.0l turbo, all wheel drive for those of you that don't know). With the money we made on the S2000 (the WRX is much cheaper to begin with), we decided to go full tilit with a bunch of goodies from Cobb Tuning, Cusco, Prodrive/OZ Racing, Tein, Endless, etc...basically only the best stuff.
Everything from motor, brakes, suspension, chassis, etc has been done to compliment a well rounded vehicle. Needless to say, this WRX will kick the snot ot of the S2000, and it can do it with 4 people, in the rain!!! It's currently making around 270hp (stock is 227), and is supposedly capable of doing 0-60 in about 4.5 sec and the quarter mile in approx 13.8 (supposedly). Anyhoo, it's damn fast in my book, regardless what the numbers say, he he he
As for the bike, well, you know that couldn't last long (me not having one). I ended up getting a used (but practically brand new) 2001 Suzuki SV650. Sure, it's a step down from the R6 as far as performance goes, but in the fun department (which is what it's really all about anyway) it just as good. Of course, it's not stock either, and went through a major transformation to get it up to sportbike standards...just lets say I can hang with just about anybody when the road gets twisty, he he he...it kind of cures my craving for a naked sportbike. I wanted to get a new Triumph Speed Triple (the bike Tom Cruise rode in Mission Impossible), but they are way to much $$$ and I did the dual headlight conversion to my SV to mimic that look - total cost was less than half of a Speed Triple and the fun factor is still about 95%, he he he
So that's about it for the vehicle line up...
As for the Accord, I did sell it if you didn't already know. Rest assured, it's in very good hands, and on it's way to Hawaii as we speak. I sold it to a military friend of my wife's, and he left for the island last week. Man, coast to coast, to fricking Hawaii, that car has been around!!! I'm sure it will be maintained well...
Now that I got everything in order with the vehicles, I'm just waiting to go to war again (please no) so I can be gone once again for the holidays and come back and do it all over again, he he he...
It was really good hearing from you guys...drop me a line somtime, and I'll check in here as well...
