So I heard that the transmission off the LX and LX-i for 1986 differ only in the gear ratio. Is this true? Is it a drastic difference? Best I can tell, they are different in that the cars had either a Carb or FI and the trans is geared accordingly. Does anyone know how they differ? Is my LX going to drive like crap with the LX-i trans? I am going to find out in a week anyway when I put the trans in but the anticipation is killing me, ha ha. Someone on here has to know.

DX/LX were carbureted and LX-i/SE-i were fuel-injected. The only difference I know of is the ratio - carb'd models have longer ratios for fuel efficiency, fuel-injected models have shorter ones for "performance". The only difference you should notice is shift points.

Thanks! so I have the "Sportier" transmission now. Sweet. That makes sense why Honda would do that.
