i think that it will look good and stand out great on a 3gee. look at the old celicas with the flip ups and carbon hoods. they look great. it gives it a japanese kind of look. i think that it wouldn't be a good show peice on our cars, just for performance applications. put on some spoons, or some dark wheel and it would look JDM. i know how you love the dark wheels, Mr89AccordLXI.

hmm. very nice!!! damn i wish i had my hands on that lovely piece. this i only the second thing for our cars that is carbon fiber. the other is a bezel for the gauges at procarparts.com

-I don't know either. Normally, carbon fiber hoods weigh about half as much as your stock hood. One of the guys who purchased a hood through the group buy can weigh both and post the results. 88LXi68's hood is being shipped now. It's his hood we have the pics of.

1. Less weight = greater performance. If you want your 3Gee to go as fast as possible, sooner or later you're gonna have to think about how to make it lighter. This is one way.
2. It releases heat better than stock hood, that means a cooler engine bay.
3. They look great!
For everyone wanting to get one - I'm not planning on asking the shop about how we can get more hoods until everyone who bought a hood through the group buy has received their hoods. Maybe he'll want us to set up another group buy, maybe he'll want to sell the hoods direct to individuals, maybe he'll just give us contact info for a performance shop that sells the hoods his shop manufactures - maybe something totally different than any of these. I don't know yet. We'll find out when all the hoods have shipped.

The shop originally said it would take a week from shipping the first hood to the last right.

-Not sure. He did say all the hoods would be shipped out in 30 days of his receipt of our order. It's just a guess, but I'd say we'll all probably have our hoods by the end of the month. Man, the hood in the pic looks so freaking good. I'm so pleased!

That's 89SEi's ride, the hood isn't CF, just black. He was also working on a tubo B20, but for some reason he sold it....

I was looking at these at a local performance shop who has tons. If you get them make sure they are painted like a cars paint. The one I looked at had a nice finish on it. I must say I do like them.

It doesnt match for a reason..its jdm style. Im sure if it was in chrome you would buy it though.

a lot of race cars have all carbon fiber body panels that are totaly painted, like the WRX WRC car. all of its body panels are carbon fiber.

ok i think you guys are missing the point. we really don't want weight reduction in the front of the car unless you are doing some road racing. yes it looks nice but if you do so much weight reduction you are going to lose that most precious traction with your front wheels.

hey u know wut would be realy good is a CF trunk lid. i know that would look tricked out. they should make some requests for that. i would want one. and ya its not so good to take weight off the front. even when i do have realy good new tires, it still didnt get good traction and would spin. now that i have alot less tread im spinning alot more. i realy want that hood though.

I want a carbon fiber hatch. My hatch only stys up some of the time cuz it weighs more than those tiny little legs will support so i think some weight reduction (even though most of the weight is glass) would be a big help.

i think that, like you said, lightning the glass would be plenty. but a carbon fibre hatch would be cool to see. if you were gonna spend the money on that you would have to change to lexan anyway or the wieght reduction idea would be stupid.

as for a carbon trunk, that would be a great idea but i beielve the trunks between the 2 and 4 door and of course hatch are different, so it would be pretty difficult to get that buy off the ground, i would be in, Site ask that dude about numbers please.
