I've got an 86 Honda DX accord, carb engine. Where is the throttle stop screw on this model? I started looking, but there is no light left to really see anything. If I'm standing in front of the engine, where do I need to look?

It idles at 1000 rpm and I'd like to get it down to 750.

I did a search already so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks in advance.

its on the back of the carb on the left side... remove the air box to reach it... you may have to have a long flat head screw driver to rotate the knob left or right by pushing on the grooves on the knob.

if you are idling at 1500 all the time no matter now long it will idle and no matter what temperature outside, than yes, you have a serious problem.

yeah, i went to EFI section ones, and they have so many unanswered threads, you won't believe.

why is that a serious problem? mine doesn't idle at 1500, but it sure isn't at 750 either. what damage does this do?

EFI, psht.

well, first of all you are waisting a lot more fuel second when my car idled that high and i would turn it off i would get mad detonation. and it is not good for any car.

if my car is idling at 1000 it turns off fine with no detonation. i definitly notice it if it's cold and i turn it off while it's still idling at like 2000 though. don't we have some sort of anti-dieseling devise also?

i don't think so, but i could be wrong

One time my car was idling a little above 1500 fully warm and it deiseled when I turned it off. Tried to start it and it was flooded. So I had to do the WOT + crank trick. But then my car did it once and I fixed the idle so I cant say we dont have antideiseling.
