Sounds crazy, I know. If the dome light is in either position other than the off position, key on, engine off,the fuel pump just runs. The brake light on the dash also comes on. I know the fuel pump cycles when you turn the key on, but if I leave the key on I can flip the switch on the dome light and the fuel pump kicks back on. If I open a door the dome light comes on like it should and the fuel pump does not run needlessly. Just looking for some good locations to start digging.

The silence is frightening. No ideas?

Well its a short in a wire someplace or someone rigged up a fuel pump cut of thru the dome light. DL the manual and look thru the wire diagrams. Pop the fuel pump cover off and trace that wire.

Sure sounds like a short in the loom. Lucky you.

After spending a good chunk of the day yesterday, I decided to just deal with it and leave the dome light switch off. I chased it from the dome all the way through the trunk and back up along the drivers side up to the dash. I was reluctant to dive into the dash as this is my daily driver and only vehicle. I did, however, have a chance to vacuum under the seats and do a little other cleaning while I was there. Now she's all back together and I had the time left to replace all my injectors that evening.

Oh well, maybe I'll dive in once I finish college and have another vehicle, maybe.

your interior still looks really clean. Hope the problem is fixed.
