I just bought 2 subs and an amp.. Any suggestions of where I put the amp? Also.. should I point the subs toward the cabin.. or toward the outside of the car?

I have my amps mounted on the back of the rear seat... this is usually where they are installed when you get it done at a car audio shop... so if you look in the trunk you will see the amp on the back side of the seat.... for the best overall performance I would face the subs away from the cabin twards the licence plate...

in the trunk facing out, unless you have your back seats down. If not put the amp behind your backseat

hide the amp somewhere...under a seat or something ..i wouldnt screw it into the sub box...makes it easier to steal...

The trunk is the best place accoustically for subs. It acts as a resonator, boosting the lower frequencies. The ideal setup, if you have the money, is a custom built-in box, with the amp(s) hidden out of view and attached to the body of the car, making it more difficult to steal. In my own humble opinion, bass boxes with amps attached to them has to be the most asinine idea ever conceived. Why not just hang a sign on your car that says: "WELCOME TO MIDNIGHT CAR AUDIO" With a pair of wire cutters and a screwdriver, an experienced punk can have it out in less than a minute.

i love livin in a small city of 56 grand. Last summer, my hatch relese cable fucked up, so my hatch wouldnt close. I left it like that for a month and it didnt get jacked! If you put ur hands up to the glass and look inside, you can see a cap and a digital voltage meter and my box and amps and it could just be lifted up.

Amp+Box=bad!!

bob pointed out that it can get jacked very easily, but i would also like to say that my old legacy II 500w popped almost every major solder point on the board because it was on the box.....its just dumb to spend $xxx on an amp and then stick it too the box

definitly face your subs towards the rear of the car. i have tried it facing mine both ways, seat up and seat down, and they totally sound the best seat up, facing rearward. if you face them towards the seat the soft seat absorbs too much sound and mutes a lot of bass and sound.
