Have you checked the level of your brake fluid under the hood?
It is a dual purpose warning lamp.
It indicates Hand Brake On
or
Low Brake Fluid.

yeah, if the level on the master cylinder is low, ur pads are gone. dont refill it, change the brake pads

if the pads are withing tolerance and yet u see the light and the level low, check ur brake lines for leak.

If the level is good and pads are fine and u still see the light, remove the shroud around the e-brake handle and see if the switch on the bottom is locked out, They never go bad, but if they are stuck, just change them with a one from the junk.

Do what I did. Take the stupid bulb out when you know that there's nothing wrong and the light is just messing around with you.

Thats called a "RIG"! Not recomended in my book of "mods"!!! That can lead to worst things, trust me.
Fix it the right way the first time. Always remember, "you get what you pay for".

Removing the bulb will get you no where but more work down the road. Try checking the ebrake houseing under the center console to see if all is intack and working properly there.

Check your rear brakes dude!!!!

Check the cylinder for leaks or air in the brake lines!

It could also be that your drums need to be replaced as well as

those drum breaks. Warped drums could also be the problem.

Does the break pedal shake when you break?

I'd say check all your breaks! As well as the booster and the

Proportional valve.

That happened in mine. The pads were shot, too much travel so it thought it was low on brake fluid. Changed the pads, it was fine.
