has it or can it be done? i know anything fits andything with fab work. but im looking to see if i can drop and go with minimal effort. i just got a 91 lude with a rod knock, so im yanking the motor, and may as well put it in my 86 hatch, after i rebuild it. but i need to know if it has been done.

It's been done. Someone here did it a few years ago. It'll take some fab work, might be easier to get a B18 with the same horsepower and get the mount kit. If you're down for a little work, I imagine the B20A5 can't be too hard to get in there as it appears to use a similar mount layout with front and rear mounts on the crossmembers, and a mount on the left hand side framerail. But it's not going to bolt right into the car, that's for sure.

your better off doing a normal b series swap. those a5s are called basterd b20s for the fact there is no aftermarket support.

It would essentially require the same amount of effort as installing an h22. As stated before, you are better off with the other b-series motors from integras, civics, and crvs.
