Rear wells, passenger side under the tailight, underbody.

rocker panels are rusty too on the ones I've seen. Are you asking about my projector diamond headlights? Well if you are, then all you do is install them just like a normal headlight. It's just that easy.

rear passanger corners, under tail lights. Wheel wells. Underbody.

the trunk problem with rust usually revolves around the movement of parts over time, and things don't fit as tight as they used to. Those freakin' rubber seals around 87 tail lights are known for this.

i have no "lips" in the rear fenders... they rotted away. I have purchased replacement body pannels. They go in when i get my dad to start workin on it. Just cut and weld and you have no more rust!

Mine is rusting by the rear wheel wells, under the tail lights and on the bottom of the doors on the inside. The trunk lid seems to be a trouble spot too but thankfully not on mine.

Under door handles, under gas cap, under chrome accents on wheel wells.

the battle goes on, all that new metal i put on on the website has started to rust ommitting the new front fenders.

mabe i'm not using enough layers of paint or something, but the rust is already coming through on the doors & rockers & trunk

mine is bad, of course, around the rear wheel wells. but when i had the time to fix it, on one side at least, i found it all the way into the floor of the trunk. half the fucking bottom of the rear of the car was rotted away. Great Stuff foam insulation is the key to fixing that.

rust never goes away!you have to get rid of it all! when i patched my right 1/4 panel i didn''t clean up the inner panel and guess who's back! so much for custom paint job, huh?

I have a small amount of rust on my hood and trunk, but only where there are dings and the paint is scraped away. I have replacements for both the hood and trunk that should be completed by next month. (Im doing the paint job myself)

Thanks for the estimate yellow3g, but I talked to my grandpa today because he used to do bodywork and paint cars on the weekends. He said that he can get the parts and help me fix and paint the car. So we're going to put it down this winter and do all the bodywork. It's charcoal gray now and I think I'm going to paint it black. So wish me luck and I'll go see what I can screw up!!!

be careful painting. there's a lot more to that than just taping and spraying. but your grandpa probably know what he's doing. although my grandpa used to own a gas station and work on cars for a living and now that he's retired he barely touches his. me dad does everything on it. and when my grandpa does stuff, it's half assed. But from the sounds of it, your grandpa is willing to do it right and not half assed. GOOD LUCK!

Mine has it on the rear fenders right where the wheel wells are. Any cheap good ideas on fixing it?

I totally understand what you are saying Grant, but I trust my grandpa and if I didn't I wouldn't let him touch my car. I love it too much to do that. He painted my dad's '66 Mustang almost 20 years ago and I saw it at the new owners house a little over a year ago and it still looked good. Granted, it had been well taken care of, but that's still impressive. Also, he is an artist, so I know that he has patience with things like this. Thanks for the tip and wish me luck.

P.S. I just started painting my vents and some dash pieces yesterday and they look awesome!!! If anybody needs advice let me know.
