Different car...Thats an awesome feeling isn't it!
Maybe a civic shorty shifter would help that elbow shifting? You would be amazed what a weber 38 would do now :) mmmmm
is an SI shifter different?
that was a bitch changing the outboard cv when I made the hybrid axle for that b20 on mine , i was putting the larger accord yoke oon a prelude just opposite lol

hahaha I just saw your start/stop button. Awesome work.

I thought I had it installed upside down but like I said the factory shifter is supposed to bend back but not this much. The shifter doesn't sit centered in the hole in the body either. Its like the whole thing is pushed too far back causing the linkage to be pulled forward and causing the shifter to lean back. WHY? I have the correct shifter and all. Mounts? What else am I missing here?

It shifts fine, its just bothering me lol

Is it possible, that you have it flipped 180˚? If you rotated it around, would it be correct? Just a hunch i have, nothing to go by, since i've never worked on one.

Great to see it all together & sorry to hear about the driveshaft difficulties. Must admit I've never tried to get an outboard CV joint apart, obviously they don't and shouldn't come apart easily!
I guess the shifter location problem has to be with linkage unless Honda had different length selector shafts between Accord & Prelude G/boxes (or something) to ensure connecting bolt could be undone easily around anything that might be in the way?

Its a Prelude gearbox, at least thats what the guy told me. It could come off an Accord and were installed on that lude and then he pulled it off but then Accord guys has been installing the lude trans all the time and they are basically the same thing.

The outer CV is supposed to come off after a few blows with a hammer but mine was stuck for good. Stupid aftermarket parts!

It came off an EX and people said the shifter should be the same between an SI and non SI models.

I sure as hell would be amazed what the efi conversion would do to this thing :p No carbs for me thanks! I'm gonna save up for the cheddas stuff later on so I might as well do it all at the same time with his fancy dual bend shifter and the bushings. My brand new bushings aren't the best and I had to substitute for that one bushing by the gearbox with some rubber hose since I can never locate a set locally :( It shifts good though just a tiny bit of slop but better than the original 28 year old bushings I guess!

I doubt that but thats how they came stock. I knew I might have flipped it or something but I've compared mine with the pics on the internet and they're all facing the same way. I could flip it now and have it bend forward/upwards but then thats a lot of work lol I'd rather do it later when I go with a short shifter and upgrade my bushings. I wish I could do it now while everything is apart but I have no more money left haha!

Haven't updated this thread in a while but car is doing fine with the manual. No more leaks! But the shifter is sitting funny. I think the linkage might be bent or even a wrong linkage but I'll get that sorted out someday. But it shifts fine so I'm not too worried about it

Also added 50% tint all around and its looking great! Rear window is a bitch to do though. I have some bubbles but I'm gonna redo the rear window someday..

Didn't do much to the car but I had the massive exhaust leak fixed over a week ago

http://i.imgur.com/HMJwila.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/4jLf0zT.jpg

I'm pretty sure the resonator is factory 29 year old ones. Had a shop doing it. I was planning on getting a welder soon but I can't wait that long and I hated how the car sounded like with the leak. Its temporary for now since I'm gonna redo the whole exhaust. You should see how PO hacked the pipe going to the muffler
http://i.imgur.com/INZT95r.jpg

This is how it sounded like in car before

http://youtu.be/j2WBYHKJOPE

Sounds like a fucking tractor.

Now after new resonator, keeping the muffler that came with the car

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmTSKsOjOIs

Sounds good IMO. It's almost factory like from the inside with slight deep tone to it when you get in it but otherwise super quiet during idle and cruising.

Also installed this chinese apexi turbo timer. Why you ask? I need its volt meter function to monitor my flaky charging system lol. I had the timer function disabled since WHY would I need that on my NA car.

we all know what those ludes are like with their standard external regulated alternators. hopefully your using a more reliable a20a internal regulator one now ?

Hazwan
01-16-2015, 04:31 PM
Yeah they had those gay external regulator and the alternator is like 55A? What a joke. I have a Nissan 80A alternator and it has built in regulator. A20A won't fit without replacing the brackets and crank pulley which means I gotta change a lot of things, water pump and possibly AC compressor.

But yeah I'm sure this used $20 alternator is not gonna last long lol. I should have replaced the brushes when the engine was out before grrr

haha

This came out nice. When i first started reading I was like oh god this is gonna be a piece of shit, then i went thru the whole thread. Good job

Just a heads up. If you develop another leak on the oil pan. Its probably from someone over tightening it. They only need to be at about 5 to 7 lbs of torque. People always over tighten them. it ends up squishing the gasket out, and also deforms the bolt hole in the pan. If you take it back off smack the holes with a ball peen hammer and make it flat again. I use a quarter inch socket set to tighten my pan bolts and do snug. They really don't need any more than that. Also, they make this stuff called "The Right Stuff" by permatex. You put on a bead like any thing else, and install. No wait time. Takes 5 minute to cure, and will never leak. Sometimes I don't even use a pan gasket, just that stuff. not a single drop comes out.

Hazwan
02-05-2015, 07:36 PM
The pan didn't leak before. But I replaced it anyway while the engine is out. It seemed like its on the original factory gasket even. Or was done properly since I didn't see any excess gasket maker stuff on. 99% of the 'mechanics' here went overboard with them and guess what? They would always leak. I used OEM gasket and torqued the bolts properly and everything according to the manual and there is no leak :D

Updates!

I've done this last week but never bothered to update my thread lolol.

My center vents trim is so brittle that it broke into thousand pieces when I took it off to fix the cracks forming around the vents. I had the vents fixed before as few of the tabs were broken and they won't turn properly. I noticed some cracks before so I epoxied them from the back. Looks like it doesn't hold up so I'm taking it apart and tried plastic welding

Also having a hard time finding a suitable location for my wireless charging phone dock. I hate using the suction cup on my windshield as it looked too busy from the outside. Gotta figure out and fabricate some brackets to mount it down low or something but the dash layout is so awkward that its limiting the possibilities :(

I prefer shaved look but the sides look too empty and weird without the rubber moldings especially near the wheel arches.

Bad thing is, the folding mechanism doesn't work as the gears are stripped. How do you even strip metal gears really?? But I don't really care as the mirrors are free. And I'm keeping my eye on a pair of working mirrors so I can swap the internals into mine. The car was pre-wired for the mirrors when I did the paintjob before anyway so its all ready to go!

Haven't posted in a while but I've added a couple of cool (cheap, or nearly free) stuff to the car recently

Added this LED under my side mirrors. They are hooked to my dome light which would come on when I disarmed the alarm enabling me to see things around the door area. They're normally found on newer cars.

Also hooked my dome light to a dome light delay/fade circuit I made so instead of turning the lights off instantly when the doors are closed, they stay on and fade after a few seconds. Again, normally found on newer cars.

Haven't posted an update in years (well maybe months but hey!!)

I've posted another thread about my bike carbs conversion (here (http://www.3geez.com/forum/carburetor-tech/116954-hazwans-quad-bike-carbs-build-thread.html)) and its been running good. Went on ~800km trip and apart of my radiator fan motor decided to die in a rush hour traffic causing my temp goes up near the red line and freaking me out, everything works fine. Oh and my fuel pump decided to make a constant clicking noise like its starving for fuel when its not. The stock carb pump is supposed to click but not this loud! So theres 2 things that I replaced grrr.

http://i.imgur.com/a41VhV1.jpg

Averaging around 25mpg highway on the trip (which is horrible if you ask me) but power wise OMG!! I can now step on the throttle while doing 110kph in 5th and it would goes up to 160 in no time without downshifting. Not that quick if you ask me but the old single carb was painfully slow sooo.

https://scontent-kul1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/12004056_10153168676637106_5406755082424033836_n.j pg?oh=2aebee1a962e2417e66f45df02948b0a&oe=56CA3BED

I did have a vid of me driving through a tunnel going WOT and the sound is just phenomenal!!

Met with some local lude guys with B16 2g and H22 swapped 3g and I can actually keep up with them. Not saying that I'm OMG-VTAKS-FAST but considering I'm lacking an extra cam and 4 additional valves with no fancy vtec stuff and how I spent like 1/8 of what they spent on their engine swap yeah I am quick enough LOL

I didn't get many pics from the meet for some reason but here's one stolen from someone else
https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-0/p180x540/12003171_960490464013227_7222332048881809265_n.jpg ?oh=62ce8c311cd5058457ed22c1eb7e904a&oe=56866BED&__gda__=1456614877_94b211dc0a80f64f92bfc1537036d51 c

Borrowed a wideband from a buddy of mine and my idle and WOT is spot on at 14.5:1 ish during idle and about 12:1 on WOT BUT my cruising AFR is HORRIBLE at 12:1 or sometimes even less at 11:1. Thats what been raping my fuel economy since I spent most of the time on cruise. I honestly expect to get at least 28mpg highway. Don't even ask what I get on town!! I did some further adjustments on the carb needle and only managed to get around 13.8-14:1 on cruise which isn't too bad but I expect high 14's. Apparently the carbs that I have are known for wearing its emulsion tubes prematurely and doesn't meter the fuel properly anymore especially on cruising range. Which sucks balls!! I have yet to see how far the full tank of petrol gets me but

I'm not expecting too much of an improvement than before.

Anyway carbs aside, I've made few changes/additions to the car. Made a cloth insert for my door panel as the vinyl is peeling/wrinkling and looking ugly af. Mint door panels are so hard to come by - they all do the same so

Right where its supposed to be! I don't know what happened there maybe theres a difference between the linkage years? Looks like the linkage is too short/bent wrong so the lever is actually pushed forward making it look like its in 4th when its actually neutral.

Yeah I could have took the shifter out and shorten the throw but then I can't be bothered to crawl under the car to get the damn thing out so I'll just wrap the whole interior with old blankets which smells like cat piss and weld it in the car. I basically made my own dual bend shifter lol

I KNOW! Illuminated pretty buttons. I am so doing that except I need to find a way to interface the buttons to the tablet. And this particular tablet sucks for not allowing me to use the USB OTG and charging at the same time else I would be able to reuse my USB rcjoycon from my old carPC setup and hook up buttons to it. Or I may just use a bluetooth keyboard or remote and hack some pretty buttons to fit.

It kinda does :( I was hoping that noone would notice that

Car made a weird vibration during idle and kinda smells lean when I opened the windows. Popped the bonnet and I can see one of the many vacuum hoses are cracked open. They were brand new too. Must be some old stock or just crap no name shit. Ordered a bunch of silicone vac hoses on ebay because I can never find one locally in black. They're all blue and its ugly!!

Gotta love how I can definitely tell something is up with the car. Paranoid much?

I haven't done much to the car in the past few months. Been dealing with life crap and all but I'd rather not bore you with the details so here are some pics of what I've been doing since last week.

I hated the stock cluster so much. I wanted the Si cluster but they're nearly impossible to find here and they're not that good looking either. Digital cluster is out because good luck finding them LOL.

Been playing around and looking at what cluster that I would fit but the choice are pretty limited because of the cluster hood shape being too small and I'm limited to cable speedos. Been playing with the idea of making my own cluster with LCDs and stuff but they just won't look as good as OEM.

Went on eBay and I accidentally found this cheap ass 5th gen cluster so I bought it. I knew it wouldn't fit and I would need to figure out the electronic VSS but I didn't care. I do what I do best, buy first, think about if it fits second LOL

Here's the stock cluster we're all familiar with. So ugly. So 80s. The yellow lettering looked good at first but then it just screams EW
http://i.imgur.com/Wx7EZ2x.jpg

I took the combination switch for another project which kinda failed so I had to scratch that idea. Basically trying to get rid of all the yellow lettering stuff in the car hahah
http://i.imgur.com/JrYkc5G.jpg

It fits! Wait no not even close
http://i.imgur.com/317Ar7u.jpg

Messed around with it. I need to cover up the gear selector as it reminds me of how much I hated the car being an auto. Sucks that I couldn't find a manual cluster for cheap but oh well I can't complain with the price I'm paying

I'm rather annoyed at this fitment issue but hey considering what had to be done to get it even close to factory fitment, I can't complain! Wish that I have the 5g surround else it would make my life 9000x easier!
http://i.imgur.com/6kcpnvC.jpg

This looks as factory as it can get so I can't complain
http://i.imgur.com/T95SUPp.jpg

I'm still waiting for my VSS to get here. I have some ideas on how to make it work.

I've tried the stock 2g VSS inside the old cluster but I guess it gave a different signal or something as it reads wayyyyy too fast. Might be doable if I could alter the signal or something but I'd rather get rid of that stupid cable altogether. More updates as I get the VSS soon!

Also decided to fix my non functional low fuel warning light. It annoyed me knowing that there's something that doesn't work like it should but I just can't be bothered to do anything about it since it requires dropping the tank to replace the thermistor in it. I had everything tested and everything works so I know it has to be the thermistor.

Trying to drop the tank

http://i.imgur.com/jRqlgBT.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/H3e3hzc.jpg

Sender assembly. Notice the silver thing with the wire attached sitting next to the pickup screen. That's the culprit. It works independently from the actual fuel gauge float, just in case your float or gauge decided to die and you'll still have some sort of warning before you ran out of fuel.

Thermistor sensor housing removed from the float assembly
http://i.imgur.com/dZbMva8.jpg

Old thermistor next to the new one I got
http://i.imgur.com/lce3nce.jpg

Soldered in place and everything is put back together. Which is a pain trying to align and lift the tank back into the car. Draining the tank before removal is a pain as well.
http://i.imgur.com/bOJ28IB.jpg

Did it work? Yeah it comes on when I have less than 10 liters of petrol and goes off when I added another 3-4 liters like it should from the factory.

Here's the spec of the thermistor I used:

1K NTC Thermistor

Manufacturer: AVX
Manufacturer Part No: ND03J00102K
Description: THERMISTOR, NTC, 1K, 3.5MM Body diameter, 3480K Beta Value

I have no idea what the stock value is but this works just fine

I really like the stock amber glow on the 5g cluster. Matches the rest of the interior lights pretty well but I needed a change so I converted the lights to red LEDs

http://i.imgur.com/KYj72j4.jpg

Red LED strips and a couple of LEDs added to minimize the hotspots and making sure the needles stay illuminated. Sucks that I couldn't get the needles off as its too risky and I'd rather not ruin it but I could have added a couple of LEDs right under the needles to get that modern glowing needle look found on newer cars

Is that thermistor still working for you? It's been a few months. Just wondering if it's fuel safe.

Still working fine, nothing exploded or anything. It feels good to have the light working again.

I think its the same sensoras the one used in the 1g and probably the same like the rest of the Hondas.

I do have some updates!

I got bored with my current wheels and the tires are pretty much shot anyway and I've always wanted some 16" wheels so I figured out this is the perfect time to upgrade else I would be stuck with the 15" for a long time if I got the new tires now. Went looking around the local listing and found some nice 16" for cheap and it came with alright tires and probably would last for another 5k km or so.

Old wheel

New to me wheels. 16x8 ET38 with 195/50-16 tires. Fits pretty much the same as before but a hair bigger in diameter so it fills the wheelgap even better

http://i.imgur.com/e6dZ5Od.jpg

That length ended up being too long and I had it shortened 1/2" off

http://i.imgur.com/MZ0IQ75.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/F9gb5ga.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/7uad4fy.jpg

I no longer bottom out at the front. I've cut 2 coils off my front stock springs and it rides fine but the lack of 2" travel and having the pretty much the same stiffness means I'm bottoming out a lot. Handles fine AND it rides pretty close to stock and its very nice and comfortable. Hey its not a racecar so I don't really care about the handling. I just couldn't stand the ridiculous stock wheel gaps!

I've got a pair of ITR calipers for free months back and decided to refinish them because I was bored

My EG 15CL13VN calipers (which is already an upgrade with 9.5" rotors up front instead of the stock 9") vs the 17CL15VN ITR calipers (it actually came off an RN6 Stream, but its the same thing. I also have the 11" rotors but it won't fit unless I get the bigger knuckle to go with it, which is pretty hard to find here)

Damn this thing is massive!
http://i.imgur.com/zwBayRV.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/pHkF9AO.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/KD10EG6.jpg

Did some research about civic brake upgrades and apparently you could use the smaller 10.3" rotors with these calipers if you have the smaller "DX" spindles but required to take 3mm off the caliper for the rotor to sit properly in the center. BUT when I did my EG calipers and rotors I had to add 3mm washers so the calipers would sit properly. By right I wouldn't have to trim or add anything if I were to use the 10.3" rotors and these calipers. But I'm too poor (more like I'm saving up my money for a different upgrade, which I'll post in a bit) so I couldn't test this theory yet. I need the 10.3" rotors and bigger MC to go with this ($$$ that I don't have yet)

So now I've been slowly collecting parts for my EFI conversion because carbs suck! Seriously they're fun to play with and all but the fuel economy sucks. 18MPG city hurts a lot and I do a lot of city driving. I could get the carbs tuned better by replacing the worn needles and its emulsion tubes but they gonna end up costing way too much and I always wanted to go with EFI since long time ago so I figured this is the perfect time to do it. Don't get me wrong, carbs are fun and I probably would stick to it if it wasn't for the worn needles causing my mid range to be rich. Leanest I could get while cruising is 13:1 and mind you thats too rich. WOT and idle are fine, I recall something around 12.2:1 at WOT and 14.7:1 something during idle. Mid range are impossible to get them right with the worn needles and the stock needles aren't adjustable anyway.

I'm going with OBD1 while I'm at it.

Ohh whats that

http://i.imgur.com/vIPkG1w.jpg

I'm sure some of you would notice that the harness is actually OBDII omg why would you do that??

http://i.imgur.com/xG6ILvY.jpg

I got the harness for dirt cheap. And I'm gonna make my own standalone harness so it doesn't really bother me. I'm going with OBD1 so all I gotta do is replace the ECU connectors and such. Besides I hate the 2 piece design on OBD0/1 harness.
The harness is from a B16 EK Civic

Big update there!
Wheels work did come up very nicely & certainly stand out effectively, fun to experiment though the last look is hard to beat. 8" sounds like a tight fit without slightly stretched tyres
Glad the extended shock mounts should save them from bottoming out when the springs run out of travel.
I did test fit some of those (CRV) calipers on my '81 prelude with some 260mm integra disc rotors & clearances looked good, though they aren't light calipers & the much bigger caliper piston diameter must mean proportioning valve as well as master cylinder so am in no rush to fit them either.

Inj. Parts collection choices sound interesting so really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together (especially now I'm working on 2! Twin carb ED Civics & bought an EG SOHC Vtec...{Didn't get Inj ED here except in rarer CR-X})

Wow looking good man! The new wheels are great. The new calipers look great too, even if you're not going to use them just yet. :) Excited to see how your EFI conversion goes!

I know it's not going to blow up, i was more wondering if that little thermistor will deteriorate in the gasoline after a while... :)

So I've installed the rest of the EFI parts like a month ago and finally got around updating this thread. Not sure if people even read this anymore lol??

Overnight parts from NZ from Matt (A18A here)

There's a problem..
http://i.imgur.com/EgPckG6.jpg

My A18A intake ports doesn't have the notches for the injectors. And I don't feel like taking the head off just to do that.

http://i.imgur.com/1E3g88m.jpg

Yeah you guessed it. I'm porting the notches with the head still installed. I've made sure that nothing gets in the ports. Made sure the valves are fully closed and then shoved a bunch of modelling clay in it basically sealing the port from any metal shavings to get into it.

Nope. Fuel pump primes and stopped with the CEL when I first turned the key on. Cranks and the CEL stays and fuel pump doesn't work? That's strange?!

Checked for spark. None. Checked for power at the injectors. Nope. Checked for power at the ECU. Nada. WTF?

CEL sometimes won't come on when I turned the key on. Seems to work intermittently.

Just as I suspected. The main relay is bad

YESSSS!! IT LIVES!!!

I wasn't expecting the CEL to come on but apparently ELD is still enabled in the chip I ordered and the O2 heater code (more to that later)

It runs so smooth though. Sounds very healthy and I honestly was expecting something a lot worse with the whole setup having parts from at least 6 Honda models lol!

Final location for the fuel pump for now. I will fabricate a surge tank as I don't feel like modding the stock tank for the baffles and stuff. I do have an issue with the pump sucking air randomly as well as when I ran low on fuel like under 1/4 tank and during normal corner or going on an incline

It's a D15 dizzy but with F22 internals. The way its set up, I would have it mounted without hitting the thermostat housing without having to cut/trim too much and I don't need to redrill the cam key. I'm just cheap that I don't wanna get that F22 dizzy adapter plate else it would make my work way easier.

The D15 dizzy shaft has the CYP sensor mounted 180 degrees off. Not sure how that would affect things but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to mount the dizzy as I do now without redrilling the cam key. I had to rearrange the firing order though.

Just a matter of putting the crank on TDC and position the dizzy so sensors are pointing at the right position, find where the #1 is pointing and mount away!

Throttle body hits the under bonnet :( Not proud of this cut but I'll clean it up later. Also had to relocate the MAP sensor as it still hits the bonnet skin

All done for now, just waiting for the tuning stuff and the surge tank. Drove about 100km so far and I didn't have any issues aside from the fuel starvation on low tank but I was expecting that. Will get that fixed with the surge tank so no biggie!

Power wise it feels quicker and a hell lot smoother than my carbs. If anything I might say the low to mid range is lacking compared to the carbs but I was expecting that with the shorter B16A intake. Hopefully tuning would help that but the engine feels alive after 5k. Too bad I just hit the limiter shortly after that hahah!

Not sure about the mileage yet but it looks promising so far. Will know better once everything is tuned as I'm currently running on stock P75 map

Amazing to see it all come together & the inventive ideas to make it something special, certainly much better than the basic vacuum distributor controls that would have been easier. shame the manifold was such a tight fit. So I ran into some issues with my fueling system where my fuel pump would sometimes make this noise where it sucks air due to the way its mounted and how far away and high up from the fuel tank.

I also could hear it starving for fuel if I'm under 1/4 tank while taking a slow corner. By slow I mean like 40kph and also when I'm on a steep incline or something.

Something needed to be done with that. I either would find the EFI tank, mod my current tank, or build a surge tank. I wen't with the surge tank solution as its the easiest.

Not a fan of its complexity with 2 fuel pumps and all that extra hoses and all though but oh well.

Got myself a 3" pipe and some hose fittings and stuff and here's the result

http://i.imgur.com/iBEoFYS.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/zyuB8G5.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/pBaACRh.jpg

Mounted under the car
http://i.imgur.com/Y9XHnDA.jpg

Then I realized that the fuel pump could be mounted a bit higher so I made some changes:
http://i.imgur.com/tJvUgGP.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/XBN6pic.jpg

Here's my 1337 mspaint diagram of how everything works
http://i.imgur.com/GBBCex8.jpg

The idea is the 3" tube which totals around 0.8 liters of petrol should be enough to provide constant supply to the EFI pump even on hard cornering and stuff since the stock carbed fuel tank has no baffles around the supply pickup. Works the same way as the factory baffled EFI tank - to keep the supply constant to the pump

Carbs don't starve for fuel even on extreme condition as they have the float bowl that would be able to provide the constant amount of fuel at all times to the engine.

It works really well now, its just the stupid stock carbed fuel pump used as a lift pump to the surge tank is kinda noisy :(

Also not a huge fan of the complexity with all the extra hoses and stuff. More things to go wrong! I might consider modding my current tank for the extra baffles and put a nice high flow in tank pump while I'm at it preparing for the next huge upgrade ;)

So I've ordered this cheap DIY wideband from 14Point7 | High Performance Tuning Tools for High Performance Engines (http://www.14point7.com)

The kit is called SLC Free Sigma Lambda Controller Free | 14Point7 (http://www.14point7.com/products/slc-free)

I heard good things about the kit so I figured I'd give it a try. Been wanting to get once since last year while I'm trying to tune my bike carbs but I've got a loaner wideband that I could use. I don't feel like borrowing it again so I got one myself.

I went with the SLC Free A with Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor included with the kit totaling $101.75 shipped to Malaysia. Considering most widebands here would cost at least twice as much, thats CHEAP! Besides I like building my own stuff (and save money while I'm at it)

I plan on hooking it up to the ECU so I can datalog and tune it from there

The kit arrived last week

http://i.imgur.com/OtF7LPU.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/sqevFpg.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/fRrlYKf.jpg

All components soldered according to the manual
http://i.imgur.com/b93fyna.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/4pqXexE.jpg

I had no issues assembling everything. Everything is nicely labelled and the components spacings are pretty good but then I've been soldering stuff since I was 8

Included 16x2 character LCD screen to display the Lambda and sensor's temperature
http://i.imgur.com/9fpYub1.jpg

Well after trying to assemble everything, I realized something - IT'S MISSING THE ACTUAL WIDEBAND SENSOR WTF??? :banghead:

I ordered the kit WITH the sensor but somehow it was excluded from the package so I emailed the seller and he replied within an hour and agreed to ship the sensor right away.

I've heard horror stories about their horrible customer service but so far Alan from 14point7 has been pretty helpful to me so far. Sucks that he could have avoided this mess in the first place as now I gotta wait another 2 weeks for the sensor to get here :(

I'll post a full update and review of the kit once the sensor arrives. Hopefully it would get here next week!

This is how it should look like once powered up

I've done some datalogging and tuning and it runs way better than before. It used to run rich around idle then starts to get a bit lean on the midrange and then goes stupid rich on the higher rpm with the P75 fuel map.

Still not perfect but this is my first time ever messing around with this. Throttle response could use some help as it feels lacking but then I guess I am so used to the bike carbs haha!

Here's a quick video of the engine running

Quick exhaust vid

https://youtu.be/V4TVL6YXG6o

My mic doesn't pick up the sound properly for some reason but trust me it's not that raspy irl!

I can definitely tell the difference with my fuel gauge now lol! It barely moves but I don't have the exact numbers yet. Still gotta get it fully tuned then I'll report the mpg improvements!

I'm aiming for 14.7:1 for idle because the engine doesn't like anything leaner for some reason. It runs weird and doesn't sound as smooth anything leaner than that. 15.2:1 for cruise and 13.2:1 for WOT. I've got both cruise and WOT covered. I think. Just fine tuning stuff for now.
