You have to think about where you are headed with your car first.
If you like 0-60 acceleration then a racing cam might not be the best thing... and same goes for gas milage.
But
If you like bouncing the revs @ 4,5000 rpm to 8,000 rpm in and out of turns then get the racing cam, it will be a blast. Just make sure you have other things for your car that will help in the upper rpm range. I have no Idea about the ECU

You won't need a new ECU to upgrade your cam, but it would be a great benefit. Unfortunately, custom ECU's are too few and far apart when it comes to our applications. We're working on it though...

As for the camshaft itself, Openloop's mild cam has served me quite well. Their wild grind produces substantially more power, but as justanothermike showed us in a video, your car will idle like a Harley.

hehe, yeah if I drop the revs to a classy 400 - 500 rpm idle. the car makes that Harley sound. :D
