My seatbelt is getting a little old on my 97 Civic.

Would someone who is not a mechanic be able to replace a front seat belt on a 97 Honda Civic easily? Does anyone know how much a used replacement seat belt would cost? Or is the one that comes with the vehicle under a parts warranty from Honda?

Thanks for any help.

Honda seat belts have a lifetime warranty, but they won't replace it just for looks. If its coming apart they will though.

Actually if it damaged the warrenty does not cover it. It has to be a mechanical failure. It never hurts to go talk to an service advisor, and see what they say.

What about the installation? Could a newbie do it?

That all really depends on the newbie skills. I know it has to be installed just right, or you end up with a seatbelt that is always locked.

It will cover it if it's normal wear and tear, such as fraying at the buckle. If it looks like you cut it, no way.
