Hey everyone, just picked up a 1 owner '89 Accord Lxi for a steal as my daily driver. 230k miles on original motor and trans and it runs great! I had to replace the master cylinder and front rotors, but it's in pretty awesome condition considering the age and mileage. I've got some experience with building old Hondas, mostly EF civics, but I'm digging the Accord so far! Anyway, it's got a few little issues here and there, so I figured I'd join this forum to probe some minds on how to fix a couple of issues...

I may have to pick up some drop springs for it at some point though...don't plan on doing anything else to it!

I'll try and get some pics soon!

I really like the tan interior. It looks way better than mine.

The interior really looks nice; the seats appear to be unblemished. If you are thinking of some exterior appearance improvements, don't hesitate to start a topic in the Appearance section of the forum.

I know I was very impressed with the condition of the interior. I've always thought that the condition of the interior of a car is a good indicator of how well someone takes care of their car as a whole. In this case, I'd say it seems true! I may have to start a thread...I'd definitely like to get the exterior looking clean, but on a budget for sure.

Hahaha I was wondering if anyone would notice the wagons! The one on the left is mine, an 89 dx wagon (sadly not running at the moment, up for sale until I have time to fix it). The one on the right is my friend's, an 88 wagovan. There's also a 90 rt4wd wagon in the garage...a project car I've had going for a while. Can't wait to get it running!!! I think we're borderline Honda hoarders.

Those cars are too hard to find for you to have so many. Send the 4WD to me promptly or you'll have bad karma.

Seriously though, post pics of the 4WD.

Hahaha it's definitely a work in progress, but here's the rt4wd:

-DOHC ZC with bisi knockoff headers, exedy clutch/pressure plate/flywheel (stage 1)
-PIC coilovers, innovative traction bar
-Energy suspension bushings, etc. all around
-Innovative motor mounts
-Jackson Racing Supercharger (not pictured, but will eventually be on the motor once I verify it's running well, etc.)
-Si steering rack
-s2000 brake upgrade (someone figured out how to get the s2000 calipers and rotors on the stock civic knuckles)

It was originally an automatic, had to convert:

Right now I'm about to weld in the passenger side trans mount bracket from a manual RT to essentially complete the auto-to-manual conversion. I also had to replace the front rear crossmember/trans mount and delete the power steering. All done for the conversion and/or to make room for the supercharger in the future.

Hope ya'll enjoy!

Hahah yeah that's the plan. I can't wait to get it to an autox! Definitely going to be a function over form build.
