Hey Jim,

I am about to spend some money to fix up my car, I want to lower it with ground control coilovers, koni shocks (both front and rear) ingalls camber kit, and some 17" rims and tires. I need your input on where the best place to get these are, and what I should be looking to spend, I want the cheapest price possible but I also want quality too

Get the Koni's from www.shox.com for $424 they're offering free shipping, but it might be to the lower 48 only. You'll also want to get the ground-controls from them but ask them to match www.nopionline.com which has them for $10 less (329.99) shox price is $339 For camber correcton www.tirerack.com is pretty cheap $100 for the front end with eibach kit's. I'd talk to shox about matching that price to.

Are you really sure you want 17" where you live, just a thougt.
I recommend that you visit www.whalentire.com and find a set of rims that you like that weigh 18lbs or less. The list the weight on that site for the rims that are light weight. Also
www.discounttiredirect.com has konig helium and traffik rims that are really light weight, but more expensive, $175per I think.

Let me know what you find out.

hey jim,

thanks for helpin me out so quick. You are the man. anyways what do you think of these rims?

http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/CallJsp?target=wheelSearchCloseUp&wheelIndex=17&sizeIndex=0&showRear=no

if that link doesnt work they are
borbet Type S 16x7.5 with a recommended tire size of
205/45/16

I am planning on getting my car shipped to NC when i get stationed at Ft. Bragg, so I dont think I would have to worry about 17"s. another question, if i get the ground controls, konis, camber kit, and 16"s will i be able to lower it enough that it doesnt look retarded (example=fender gap still) I appreciate all the help man

Hey Jim,

I went to that whalentire.com site and found these rims, they are
ADR M sport, Ion metallic plating? whatever that means
17x7 for 189 each.

I cant find where it says the weight??

they got 40mm offset, and are 4 lug.

they say they are dual drilled what does that mean??

sorry for all the questions but at least i can say that jim from 3geez.com helped me out. that way i dont look stupid

Yeah the link won't work for use cause it's cookied on your computer and not anyone else's. Glad you thought about saying what they were. You don't want the borbet's they are 35mm offset (tirerack needs to get with the program and list offsets) and they are on the heavy side, 21lbs

You should be able to lower it as much as you dare. Thing is, if you go to low without haveing the front koni's shortened by koni. Your gonna run the risk of bottoming out the struts and blowing them in a hurry. I don't think going below 2.25" drop is a good idea with out shortening the struts. Or at the very least removing the welded on brake hangers on the front struts so they sink into the pinch fork a extra inch. That would effectively shorten your front strut's by a extra inch, just a thought.

I'm pretty sure those rims weight 20-21lbs
Dual drilled means they have a total of eight holes in the rim. One set fits your car 4x100mm the other set is different, almost alway's when one set is 4x100mm the other is 4x114.3. Which is what the 90+ accords use and 92+ prelude use.

Hey to help you shop for rims here a link to konig's site. They list the weights to their wheels
http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_list.cfm?categoryid=1

whalentire doesn't carry all the konig wheels go to
www.discountire.com for more konig rims.

And here's some site's to visit if you want to try and find the weight of a given wheel. They don't like all the rims out their, but I'll help.
