I recently acquired an 88accord lx. to make a long story short, I want to put the 88 lx-i engine in it. besides makin room for the injection, ar there any complications I may face? I would think it would b a drop-in, but that almost never works. Anybody with some experience?

Its our beer baron moderator, carotman did it and greenmachine and myself did it. There are no complications u would face if u know what u are doing and that is Accquire the knowledge before u do it. since u got a lx, ur pretty much set for the dash harness cause u dont need to change it. IF ur just wannting to swap the engines, i dont think there is a problem. But if u wanna change the engine and the intake which involves converting from carb to efi, then u got a lotta work ahead of u. Have fun.

I guess I'd be better off just rebuilding my A20A1 and building that up, rather than fooling with computers and wires fo the EFI conversion.

Yes, you would be, if you don't have time to be withouth a car. You need to remove most of the LX harness under the hood, put an LXi harness in, and plump a return fuel line.

Look in the Performance and Project Central sections at the threads on DCOE carb setup's. Easy power, and not very expensive when you consider it.

What exactly is the harness? the main engine electrical?

Injection's nice, but I'll stick wih what I got and put the extra dough into my suspension.

Another good way to save you money is to have a whole F/I parts car for the conversion. I'm lucky that i still have my old EX-I, it will make things easy (dollar wise) for my EFI conversion in the spring.

Just another crazy beer drinking Canadian planning a EFI conversion here, lol.

I'm giving myself 2 months to do mine if all goes well.

I want to also replace the LX interior (it's rough) plus install power windows too at the same time.

Your LX doesn't have power windows? I thought all LX came with them.

nope, mine has the old school crank windows, it's a plain LX model with no features, but i'm hoping to change that next year. I also hate that my back seat won't come down, its not very subwoofer friendly.

Huh. Mine is decked out. power windows, locks, folding seats, power antenna, cruise control, the works. I thought that the full option package was the diff between LX and DX. Guess not.

The cool thing that i like is that my parts car has everything except for power locks, it will eventually be an EX-I model time i'm done with the mods.

Yeah don'T attempt to do thin if you don't have a parts car (unless you're dating the junkyard owner's daughter) hehe :p

I've decided to stick with what I've got and just put the money into making it turn. You don't need power if you don't have to slow down around turns ;-)
