OK I went to the local honda dealer today to pick up some more parts for the B20a engine swap that I am doing.
As I am running the B20a on a carb I though I would buy a new PCV valve.
When it came time to pay. He told me the price.
I was like :omg: :wtf:
The price:-

PCV valve H17130-PH1-003 £26.53 GB ($39.80 US)

I remember reading that the PCV vales are not expensive so asked him if the price was correct and he said it was.:werd: :werd:

What prices have you paid for the PCV valve??

check the part # against the prelude b20 and see if they match, if so get one from a parts store

I thought that was a bit high as well..still haven't installed it, I needed the recipet to "prove" that the car was "repaired", as I actually changed iginition timing to pass emissions, but that would have been needed to be done by a "real shop"..normal droids like myself can only "change parts".

$11 seems fair enough..while most american cars PVC go for $5

Well I figured that it would happen one day.
Cheaper to buy off the net and pay for shipping than get from the local dealer.:wtf:

Ive always known that the UK honda dealers were having a laugh with their prices but this has taken the pi$$.

I suppose that I have no choice for some of the B20a parts other than go to the honda dealer

Hey Aerodeck,

Just so you don't feel alone, I actually paid $20 for a PCV valve ONCE from my local Honda dealer. I was having an idle problem and someone reliable suggested that my problem stemmed from using an aftermarket PCV valve instead of Honda's. Well, to make a long story short, it made no difference, so it's back to the $2.00 Purolator valve from Pep Boys!
