Out of the four body styles of the third generation Accord, the coupe was the only one that was solely built in the United States (I believe some of the hatches were built at the Marysville plant, too). They were a unique "reverse import" back to Japan and other countries, therefore called the "import edition".

Thank you! And why then left wheel if it was sent back to Japan???

That's why it's the "import edition". Since Japan and Eurasia already had the sedan and notchback hatch, neither really had a market for the coupe so only a small number were imported back to Japan and Eurasia, but only in LHD form because they were never intended to go there.

What does the : Import Edition??
Hi this model was sold in Japan between around 1988-1989 if I remember correctly.
It was built in US Ohio factory and 'Imported' into Japan.
About the left steering wheel, from my experience being in Japan at that time, under the bubble economy in the 80's-90's, Japanese people started buying European and American imported car and left steering became a sort of status symbol.
I guess Honda thought there would be no problem or, it would be even better if the 'Imported Edition' has left steering - in fact it was a bit of sensation when it came into the market.
Also, Japanese export was big economic problem at that time and it was Honda's effort to counter act that.

Some interior parts are different from US Coupe, centre console for example, but most of the other parts are the same.
Good luck with your project.

Interested thing is that the type of this Imported Edition coupe is CA6.
In US equivalent model is CA5 LX-i (A20A3 PGMFI Engine with rear drum brake).
With CA6, some interior parts are different from CA5 LX-i but most of the other parts are the same.
Good luck with your project.

Close! The two-door coupe is the CA6 in all markets, all years. The sedan, fastback hatch and notchback hatch ("aerodeck") were CA1 through CA5, depending on market and engine.

How are you all holding up there in Ukraine? Seems like a time of considerable turmoil.

I'm sorry to hear that. There are reports that the US is there stirring the pot as well, which can't be good. I wish you well. My grandparents fled the Crimea during the Bolshevik Revolution and came to the US.
