ACCORD EX

yeah, its probably the speedo cable is loose in the tranny. check to see if u see a 'C' clip once u move the rubber gourmet from it. If its fixed and still bounces around. Then u need to replace the speed sensor and its not that hard to get one from the junk and put it in u car.

you have posted this in another thread !
that's the clip i mean !
i need the pic of the clip so i can get a similar one !
because when i removed the rubber i realized that i don't have a clip ! and my speedmeter bounces !

A bouncing speedo isn't related to the clip. It's because you need a new speedo cable.

ACCORD EX

may be so ! but when i was checkin my cable at the tranny it's very loose i just pulled and it came right out !

Do they have Honda dealers in Egypt? I'd say just go buy one, they're only like a buck, if that. Sorry for no pics, don't have one handy, and I sure as hell don't wanna pull it off my car.

The part number is not there

You know what? you should brin them a GM part and ask for this!

What kind of dealership is that! They should also work with part numbers. did you file a complaint to Honda of Egypt?

The part you'Re looking for is the number 8 on that link

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Accord&catcgry2=1988&catcgry3=4DR+LXI&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=P.S.+PUMP-SPEED+SENSOR

They will rip you out of 87 cents.... :D

Under the boot, I never bother pulling the boot all the way down after that, it's just a nuisance.

ok so you better get a #1, and #8 now.

along with a #5 (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Accord&catcgry2=1989&catcgry3=2DR+DX&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=SPEEDOMETER-CLOCK)

That should do the trick!

accord_lx_86 just mailed me the pic of the clip ! but how the hell should i put it on !
i looked at the wire and here is a pic of it !

# 1 is the wire it self
# 2 is a groove
# 3 is a rubber casing !
the drawing of the clip is above !

should i just put it around the groove and put it 2 ends on each other and then insert it with the clip into the hole ! i am afraid it could fall in !

the clip lays perpedicular to the cable.... ...put the cable in, slide up the rubber cover. Look at the top of the speed sensor and where the cable goes into it. You'll notice a small "cut" in the neck of it. Just slide that clip around that neck and into that little "cut". You'll notice that the clip has one side that's a little flatter then the other. That's the side that lays into that cut. If the cable is in all the way, that cut will line perfectly up with teh groove in the cable, hence the reason for the clip, and it's ability to hold the cable put. To make sure that you've got it in right, give the cable a little tug.. If it comes out, try again, if it's "stuck" then by gollie you've got it!...
