I have a CODE alarm with electric start (LX model I believe). How often should I change the batteries in the remotes? Waiting til they fail is not the way I get down. Once a year, maybe? The battery looks like a little AAA battery, not the old school dime sized calculator battery. I hope a new battery improves my range cuz I gotta be up on the mofo for the remote to work...

It depends my unit has an LCD screen but suprisingly i got like 7months out of it. The battery if i am correct by you description is the same as a garage door opener and you can get them at radio shack or even sears. Mine is big enough to have a AAA that is my only negative thing is the transmitter is big but for the functions not bad....My original alarm on my first accord i dont think i ever had to change them while i had it.

My Viper alarm takes 2 AAA's and they last me about 2-3 months. I don't care they do not last long it's worth it if you like your car not being broken into!
