Ok guys I have a '85 Honda Accord LX Hatchback. I want to know what ya'll think it's worth. I don't want to get rid of it but don't have the money to fix what needs to be fixed on it. It's really my stepdads car but I've been the only one to use it in the past 10 years. I wrecked it back in 2004. Has a cracked windshield. Has 202k miles. 5 speed. Manual windows and locks. Tags are out and would need a safety inspection. Has a clear blue title. My stepdad starts it up every other week. Has horn button just not hooked up at the moment. Hood opens and closes needs a power steering rack. I love this car and i'd hate to see it go. Btw this is not a for sale thread, just simply seeing what its worth.

The big ding is gonna be... well, that big ding on the front. Funny enough, my car got dinged up in the same area this spring. It was all fixed for around $1200 (new fender, bumper, brow, and paint)

The rest of the body looks straight and rust-free though, so that's good. But, hard truth... as far as value probably like a grand is the most I could imagine getting for that car. It's tough having old cars, I know.

If you can scratch together enough to at least make it drive solid and pass inspection, that's what I would do, and just keep it until you can afford to put in the money to make it nice. If the powertrain is fundamentally solid now then most likely it still will be when you can afford to put the money into the car to make it nice.

Yeah its a great car. I drove if from Dallas, Tx to Charleston, SC in the summer of 2004 and had no problems other then the ac going out. This was before I wrecked it. I'd like to keep it honestly but it just sits in the driveway and occasionally gets driven down the street. I'm not going to spend $1200 to get it fixed. Yours looks mint anyway. I'm surprised you think I could get $1000 for it. I would expect $500 at most. The only problem I'm having is finding parts for it that aren't worth more then the car. I don't like aftermarket parts because of fitment issues.

So I'm thinking of selling this to make room for another project.

There is no room in the driveway. Why are you arguing with me if I've already made up my mind?

why do you think I'm arguing? just giving you something to think about is all, it's always after you get rid of the car, that you think, maby I should have kept it. It's happened to everyone at one point or another

That's happened to me like 10 times lol. I like that car, honestly I'd give $500 for it in that condition it it runs good. But if you don't want to put money into it, then I wouldn't.

To me there is no point in keeping it if it just sits in the driveway. You don't have to tell me that. I've owned 12 vehicles and there have been a few I still wish I had.

So I have a guy who wants to trade his '89 accord lx auto. I'd rather have a lxi 5spd but what the hell. Here's some pics.
