Fuel gauge sending unit

Aside from my transmissions screwed up shifting, there is one thing annoying the shit out of me. My fuel gauge sending unit. I've pulled it about 3 times. The low fuel indicator works fine. And when the sending unit is pulled, as I move the float, the gauge moves accordingly. However, every time in the tank, once I fill the gas tank, it gets stuck at full and doesn't go back down.... It is pissing me off! Any ideas?

* Low fuel light functions normally.
* Gauge functions normally when float is moved outside of fuel tank.
* Gauge gets stuck at full once I fill up the tank.

**** I'm looking for any ideas, but not for, "Just don't fill up your gas tank". :sad2: Thanks in advance for any and all responses to this post.

I'd be looking for some mechanical flaw at the top of the float's range. It might be twisting slightly in the guides or something. Just have to keep playing with it till you figure it out.
