Same here.. ...I am not a big fan of chrome at all, but I would without question put those on my hatch. I like it, and like Jim says, nice to see someone repres'tn for us hatchs.

is that bent intake better then the stock airbox. cuz i thought the whole reason for getting one was to eliminate the curve so you could get better airflow.

Low Tek
11-21-2002, 02:49 PM
yes.. the intake pipe is better then stock.. is has one bend, as to the stock air box has much plastic tube to go through, and then the air box, and then more tube into the intake... motor works harder to the air.. as to mine and other CAI gets true... bigger pipe, more direct...

Low Tek
11-21-2002, 02:51 PM
and as for being low... I like low.. the lower the better for handleing and almost no body roll... just need a fe more things, and then I will be happy

just the ass is low tho?

don't know... it is level all around... but then again, I have 2 12's in a box, and the amp with it

oh man, i bet that intake sucking major hot air from radiator fans.

Low Tek
11-21-2002, 03:09 PM
no... I have 2 holes cut into the hood, right next to the cone.... nothing but cold...

A20A1
11-21-2002, 05:22 PM
hmm... normally a hole cut on the hood draws air up and out of the hood (like water rising when blowing on a straw). Thats why shepherd79 is still correct... though the air is not as hot as if you didn't have the ventalation. Why not add a small scoop. a lot of euro rides are adding small scoops just above the filter.

that intake looks almost like a short ram for a Legacy 2.5 RS. if somebody were willing to try and bend one of those it just might be able to fit.... just a thought. but it would be drawing hot air like you said, so it probably wouldn't be worth it. unless you wanted to isolate it from the bottom and work on scoop ideas. like put a half heat sheild that just wraps around the bottom half and expose the top to open cold air.

Low Tek

this is the set up I have now.. goin to move the intake when I get the new front bumper

nice setup low tek! i like the holes in the hood! maybe you should fabricate some scoops with those holes for a ram air setup.

Low Tek

I have thought about it... but the hole was just for air... I am getting ready to make a custom hood with sccop and reverse vents... but money fell short

Nice work on the hood... :D

I wanted to graft on the fibre glass Lancer hood vents, form A&A hood scoops.

Low Tek
11-21-2002, 09:15 PM
I have seen some real nice hood scoops that I was thinkin on.. one was in the old iroc camero's.... they have the reverse air induction, or maybe a small teardrop scoop... either one of then I can get from JC Whitney...
