does anyone else have any other links to articles about a real high mileage 3G accord, or 2G lude? Reason being, there's some people here at work that bust my balls about keeping this "'ol money pit" as they call it, and I want to prove to them that it's worth holding onto. I showed them this article, and they're like "so ONE person got luck ONCE".. ...help me prove them real wrong here.

Gawd damn... The tranny went 366K!! He musta bought it new and actually followed Honda protocol, which very few people do (or did back then).

My car's trip mileage reading as of right now is 397.6 miles. This was from the gas that I pumped in on Saturday. I'm gonna run it until it hits 450 befor I pump gas. Talk about fuel efficiency.

Damn I wish I had an LX-i... ...my DX's might get 300mi to a full tank.

Hey Mark, here's a couple more links for ya

^^^^^ The above 2 are all Hondas and Acuras in general, and some are newer and don't have as many miles as others, but just read through them and there's quite a few mixed in there (87 Lude Si with 783k!)

thanks man! I just printed 'em out and showed 'em to the group... ...it's working... ...just a little more info and I think I'll start to see more 3G's out in the parking lot soon enough.

I have just recently acquired a 1989 DX Sedan and it is around 137,000 Miles. The car is in excellent condition but the engine might have been blown. They say there might be a good chance of it being the head gasket or the timing is off. I personally hope its the timing, cause its cheaper and simpler to fix.

I wish my car got that kind of gas mileage....I'm lucky to get 350mi a tank...what I get for having an old engine and driving 1,000mi a week.

To contribute to the statistics...

My '89 LXi has 202,2XX.X miles on the clock.
Last week when I computed it, I was getting 32 mpg.
I'm getting ~420 miles before the low fuel light comes on.
I'm using about 12 gallons of gas at each fill-up.

I havn't tried to get my mileage but my LX just turned 218K this weekend. As far as I'm concerned I have at least untill the 300k mark be for I even have to worry. However original factory equipment isn't going to make it that far, I'm going to be doing some modifications soon. ;)

I thought that DX's were gas savers. Maybe I thought wrong or I was just thinking about Civics. My engine right now has over 200K miles and it's the second engine. I blew the original a year ago (last November). My car's pretty much stock. I only have an intake, but that doesn't affect my gas-mileage.

civics = fuel injected
DX Accords = carbueration

IMO, carbueration sucks big time Donkey. I was getting upper 20's gas milage in the summer, but not It's down to the lower 20's. Absolutely piss poor. I can go about 250-275 miles before the light comes on >:(
