If you press in the lighter, it stays in and doesn't warm at all. I didn't see a fuse for it but some old posts say it is #13 under the hood. Does the bottom half of the dash flip off to make access to the back of the lighter easier? I disconnected some other things a while ago like seatbelt chime and wonder if the lighter was also affected.

It is most likely a faulty lighter. I am not sure that the lighter socket is wired along with the door chime, but you never know (or I just don't lol). The easiest access to the back area will be removing the stereo deck as the underside of that portion of the center console is solid, regardless of which model. Also, "KA model"? All of these Accords are CA1-CA6

KA is the 49 state emissions, CA1-CA6 is the body style and something like the engine?.

Makes sense, odd how I've never seen anyone use that terminology here. I also did not know these cars were Cali/49's.

California has had different emissions systems since the 70's on most cars.

True, but sometime in the last decade all states go by California's emissions now.

Maybe for the emissions levels, but some of the emissions control equipment is still different. CARB has durability requirements for the Cat that the other states except NY have not adopted yet.
