Does anyone have the MSD SCI Ignition? What kind of difference or gains did it give you?

I got the MSD 6A, but it's basicly the same, just a new box. Gains were good in the upper RPM bands above 4,000 - the "pull" didn't feel like it was leaning out. I also got the standard I/H/Rusted-E, so that helps.

You got an LX, so I don't know how much of a difference it would help on yours. I'd get a Weber conversion for that money; more power there.

Have you gotten any arcing in the distributor with the MSD 6A's 20 degree spark duration? Also, do you guys know if the SCI has a shorter spark duration? Also, what coil are you using? I am using a 6A/Blaster2 configuration on my 82' RX7, but it does not arc because the distributor cap is larger in diameter than my accord.

Never had any problems with arcing that I know of.

As far as I know they are exactly the same exept the sci is good up 11000 rpm to the 9000 of the 6al

Don't know, I might of had arcing problem. I did need to replace the distributor cap due to the points inside it disintegrating. Then again, it was VERY old.

I 've been running the SCI with a Blaster coil 3 for the whole summer.. no problems have surfaced

Thanks for the speedy responce. I was reluctant to install the ignition module on my accord for fear of arcing problems, but no longer.

I have had no problem but I would suggest 8mm plus wires to be safe extra insulation is good.
