I have recently purchased my third 3gee and have decided to start a build thread on my 86 hatchback. I am not sure why i didnt start one a long time ago but oh well. I got the car from a local junk yard for spare parts but I fell in love with it and decided to make it my DD once I get my lisence. The A20A1 was blown up when i got it, so i decided to do a complete fi swap. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Thanks! Ummmm in the process of removing the cabin harness from the white car. Then we are going to remove all the extra plugs/wires that are not needed. Then finally i can start putting the hatch back together. Oh and i am swapping the suspension off the white car to the hatch also. Quite a bit of work left to do haha.

We decided it would be much easier to get the exhaust and fuel tank out if it was on its side so thats exactly what we did!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/22/mepanyje.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/22/u4uda3at.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/22/pyqanahu.jpg

LOL. You might be a redneck if... your engine/car hoist is a front bucket loading tractor.

That's coming from a hillbilly BTW, which is a few steps down from a redneck as far as I can tell.

I saw a thread on a Chevy forum not long ago where a guy decided to convert his 2WD extended cab into 4x4. He got a wrecked 4x4 and his tractor and within the weekend he had the body all swapped over to the 4x4 drive train. I was impressed. Those tractors get it done.

This is sooooo cool! I used an end loader to hoist engines for years at my old job, its tricky and the hydro valve action on the tractor cant be jerky.lol

Haha It definitely gets the job done, along with being able to move whole cars around with no problem. I love having it, idk how many times it has pulled me out when i get stuck.

I started thinking yesterday and i have decided to put the hatchback on the back burner for a while. My plan was to build a stock engine and dd it for a while until i build a high hp block, then swap engines and turbo it. Made the decision last night to just get another car for a dd. I am then going to do the hatchback right the first time. Next time it moves under its own power it will have 250+ whp :)

Now looking for a 3gee lxi sedan, a 3rd gen lude, or a 2nd gen lude.

Its time for progress to resume on this project! Im tired of looking at it. Im looking for an lxi hatchback cabin harness. Its time for this car to start looking like a car again. Im thinking the engine will come last. Time to wire it and get a good foundation underneath of it. And i previously said 250+ whp. Its going to be more like 350. Idc what or how long it takes, its going to happen.

Took the car to school with me this week. Got the rest of the interior stripped out and washed. It smelled reeeaaallyyy bad, there was a mouse nest in the headliner. But its all clean now and ready for a cabin harness if i can find one. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/13/d1b711272587df9cff0b88d0db3e8b15.jpg

There is so much fail in this car its not even funny. Still being in high school I couldn't afford to do much with it so I pushed it aside and it sat... All it has done is sit around for almost 2 years now. I am going to try and start working on it in the next few months and have it ready for summer.
