:confused: Ok, I need some opinions. I don't have a ton of money, (why I own a 3G and not a new civic) Anyway, I have enough to get nice 17" rims and tires. Or I could get coilovers and a relatively cheap paint job, instead. Which should I do? Thanks.
if you get 17's your car is gonna look like this:

i agree, if u get rims without lowering it looks like a suv or something cuz it sits so high. lower it first dude.
I thought that you had to have the wheels that you wanted on first and then lower it?
i'd say lower and paint job, then get the rims. or, paint job, save, then lower and rims at once ;)
are you going for looks or performance? if you are going for looks that the rims will probably what you'll want to do first, but lowering it will give you a more noticable increase in performance.
Thanks guys, I think I'll prob. be getting the paint job and lowering first. Maybe I'll find some Acura rims/tires to keep me content until I get more money.
the cost to lower your car is about teh same cost as nice 17" and tires.. :)
unless you just cut your springs... lol...
but to get ground control coilovers, and koni struts, u will spend about 800-900. plus then you will need a camber correction kit or lude control arms... :)

I went to Maaco and they said they would paint the entire car, bumpsers, trim, miror, spoiler, and front lip and the rest for $290. And it comes with a 2 year warranty. I priced coilovers at just over $100, but I'm not sure yet if I'll install them or have them installed. I don't plan to lower it enough to have much camber, and if I do, I can get some 'lude thingies at the local junk yard. Has anyone used Maaco or gotten coil-overs that could comment?
i have Neuspeed Sport Springs that are a 1 1/2" drop and i didn't need any camber correction. i did it myself and the biggest problem was old frozen bolts. if you run into those you are gonna have a hard time, but if not than it's easy with the right tools. Spring compressor, good wrenches, ect.

How is your ride with Neuspeed (what struts did you go with)? Im looking to get lowering springs and want a ride thats as close to OEM as possible.
i used Tokico struts in front and KYB GR-2s in back (because i'm cheap/ poor) which everybody will tell you not to do. i have had this set up since July i beleive and i am totally happy with it. the ride is a bit stiffer than stock, but that is unavoidable with lowering springs. it is definitly not harsh, bouncy, or unpleasent. it's a smooth ride and it corners great, which was what i was looking for. i could def use some stiffer sway bar bushings and a rear sway bar, but the springs were a great improvement. if i were to replace anything, i would just put Tokicos in back too, just for peice of mind. right away it will look like you didn't even lower the car, but once it settles in it will look real nice. what it all means is, i like the Neuspeed springs.
i already had my GSRs on with 205/50/15s when i lowered it, so i know it's killer with bigger tires, but i'm sure you'll even be pleased with stock tires.
