Simple question about fan belts

I need a new ac fan belt for 86 accord lx, auto trans, carb. I just wanted to know if I could still drive it without damaging anything if the belt broke unexpectedly. I am replacing belt this weekend

The A/C belt is separate from the rest so you can drive without it. Just make sure you never drive with the alternator belt off since it also drives the water pump.
